What are you talking about?

A feeble attempt at a joke. It was funny in my head but not after it was written. I hope those who are coming out after taking a break, stay with it.

How much do they have coming back on the O-line and who are some names to watch moving up?

Returning lineman should be Turner, Schweitzer, Kramer, Saunders that I can think of off the top of my head. Thurston did see a little action at the end of the year as a blocking tight end.

I think the line will be very good..

The only line position that is even in question is center. Mitch Dee anchored that spot for the last two years.

Coach Turner has options: moving one of the bigger boys listed above to the position or going with Sean Lemmons. Sean is smallish compared to the rest of the group, but has great technique.

Big Bo Hebel (soph) could be in the mix as well if he plays on the offensive side of the ball.

What will the defensive backfield look like?

Good! I'd put Hoge, Daugherty into empty spots. They could really add some pop and speed to the d-backfield.

Bo is so quick I wouldn't be surprised to see him on D next year. After Seth Hope is gone they will need another stud on that side of the ball.

Hoge may very well step into a role at Safety. I am pretty sure that Dougherty will not step in there. I am sure many soph's are just hoping that they get a chance to contribute in some fashion at the Varsity level.

Does anyone have a number of kids that have been showing up for winter workouts not including the middle school kids?

Talked to one of the coaches yesterday. They are projecting over 100.

And that is not including the dozen and a half that are currently playing basketball. May need to double up some jersey numbers next year.

Question: about how many current Highlands basketball players played on the Highlands football team this past year (2012)?

My son said there were 40-45 Freshmen to be at the first workout last Thursday.

JV/Varsity:

Turner, Houliston, True, Hergott, Greene, Brockett, Weyer, Feggins

Frosh:

Kendall, New, Cain, Hebel, Dougherty, Hergott, Johnson, Kreeger, Towles, Ziegler

If my count is correct that is 18 footballers that are involved in the basketball program currently.

That sounds like just about every 8th grader that played in the FTJFL last year is out for football. I'm sure that doesn't include the hand full of kids that are playing Basketball and another 3-4 that will find their way to Ft Thomas to play Football. I like the early numbers! So by season's start there will probably be roughly around 40 kids dressed for Frosh football.
