January 4, 201313 yr Report: Chip Kelly 'close to a deal' to become Browns head coach - CBSSports.com
January 5, 201313 yr Hate to hear that. Not an Oregon fan but I love college football and not too interested in the NFL.
January 5, 201313 yr I know he will cash in but why go to the Browns? They are not very good. Browns aren't a bad team. Good solid defense, good RB, young WR's. need a playmaker and give Weeden a year to see if he progresses.
January 5, 201313 yr Say it aint so. A mistake IMHO. Stay at Oregon, get a big fat pay raise (thanks to the NFL interest), keep recruiting fast guys and sneak a win over the SEC someday and then jump to a team with a chance to win.
January 5, 201313 yr Chip's running the new version of the West Coast offense popularized by Pete Carroll at USC-----run a go pattern to the NFL before the NCAA drops the hammer on your school.
January 5, 201313 yr He is supposedly interviewing with Philadelphia today. Now it looks like he will be finalizing a deal in Cleveland tonight.
January 6, 201313 yr Saw a tweet earlier that said Carolina had decided not to fire Ron Rivera. The tweet said that it would have been nice to see Chip Kelly go to Carolina and coach Cam Newton.
January 6, 201313 yr I know he will cash in but why go to the Browns? They are not very good. Analyzing the AFC North, Pittsburgh is in decline. Baltimore will soon realize that they will not get to or win a superbowl with Flacco at QB and then you have the Bengals. With the right coaching, the Browns could actually win this division comfortably next year. This team has had high draft choices for many a year now.
