December 18, 201213 yr I became suspicous of Santa in the third grade when I caught my mom wrapping gifts that I would later recieve. Asked my dad about it in the way home from school, was told he did not exist. I didn't care at all and was still very pleased with the hot shot basketball set I was given.

December 18, 201213 yr I don't remember specifically how i figured it out. But i do remember being in big trouble from my parents for telling my 5 year old sister what i knew... also. my current favorite story to tell in the santa discussion. my mom said recently "we only let you believe one of the presents you got was from santa, i wasn't letting him get credit for the presents i paid for!"
December 18, 201213 yr I realized it myself when I was 10. Turned out Santa had the same hand writing as my father.
December 18, 201213 yr Our best Santa story. We used to go to the Cincy Zoo every season; seems like they called it the festival of lights or something like that. They had one of the best Santas anywhere. Daughter was about 7 and beginning to question the jolly old fellow, but he was convincing. Just to make sure, that year we stuck a piece of red felt in the door jamb early Christmas morning before she woke up; then told her that Santa must have gotten stuck in the door. Fast-forward to the zoo the next year. Daughter goes up to Santa and asks, "Do you remember getting stuck in our door and tearing a piece of your jacket off?" He didn't miss a beat - went right along and said yes, he sure did remember. She was a believer that year as well.

December 26, 201213 yr Our 10 year old daughter was questioning pretty hard until we went to Patti's last week and they had Santa there with Mrs. Claus. Santa had a earpiece in and Mrs. Claus was relaying info to him from us. She was blown away that he knew so much about her. We got her believing for at least one more year.

December 26, 201213 yr That's clever of Patti's! Love that place around Christmas Very clever. Her face was priceless when she came over to tell me what Santa had said. He even knew they were watching Polar Express on our way up there.
