Who's evaluation of "overpays" matters? If UL thinks the money is well-spent, that's all that matters. My former boss would have considered what my current company pays me to be "overpayment". But my current company considers the money an investment in the future of the company.

Clearly, Louisville thinks he is worth the money, that is obvious by them giving it to him. It is certainly okay for fans to discuss it though and I'm sure most any Louisville fan would agree that it isn't a Top 10 job in the country. I still haven't seen a figure yet though only that it is for eight years. I'll hold off until then but kudos to them for holding on to him, but I don't see him being there all eight years.

You are right, I do not think it is a Top 10 job by any means, and I think MOST Louisville fans would also agree.

 

I'm not sure about all of this "value" or "criteria" talk. Things happen, fans debate and will disagree at times.

 

I would love to see a Top 10 ranking of someone who thinks Louisville is in there. Top 20 could probably be argued.

Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, USC, Oregon, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida State, Wisconsin....(no order). Nah, not a top ten job.
