Wow Obama Is Pouring It On

Featured Replies

President Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney by six points nationally among likely voters, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Monday.

Fifty-two percent of likely voters support Obama, and 46 percent back Romney (2 percent responded neither, and 1 percent had no opinion). That's a four-point bump since a poll taken before the Democratic convention in Charlotte, N.C., when the two candidates were tied at 48 percent. Prior to both conventions, Obama had 49 percent to Romney's 47 percent.

Obama took the lead as the candidate better trusted to handle the economy, with 50 percent of likely voters saying he'd do a better job on the issue, compared to 49 percent who favored Romney (1 percent said neither). Prior to the Democratic convention, Romney led 51 to 45 on the issue.

No that was Reagan, Bush and Bush. Still digging out.

Can't trust those danged CNNers as far as you can throw them...biggrin.gif

Should be about time for a new FoxNews poll; last one was out about August 9th or 10th.

I have about as much trust in CNN as you do Fox.
As of today the RCP average has Obama leading 48.8% to 45.7%. Locked up 221 electoral votes to Mitt's 191.

In the toss up states according to Rassmussen Romney is ahead in NC, Fl, IA and WI. Obama leads in MI, NV, NH, and they actually have him ahead in MO.

VA, OH, CO are dead even. Makes for a very tight race. I was told by a political analyst that 85% of the time whoever is ahead after the first debate wins and if either canidate wins both NH and VA that you know who the winner is.

It would be good for people to check the sampling ratios of these polls.

Obviously there's a lot of game left but I believe Obama will win because I don't feel there are enough undecided voters left for Romney to overcome the electoral advantage that the president has. If he does hold on, there are no coattails and it looks right now like the republicans will have the house and senate. So, Obama will be serving from a weak position and the republicans will be holding hearings about all kinds of perceived wrongdoings by the administration. Both sides will be working more to make sure their opponent doesn't get a win rather than trying to find solutions to the problems we're facing. I'm getting depressed.

Agreed, however there are worse things than a divided government IMO.
