September 11, 201214 yr In the toss up states according to Rassmussen Romney is ahead in NC, Fl, IA and WI. Obama leads in MI, NV, NH, and they actually have him ahead in MO. VA, OH, CO are dead even. Makes for a very tight race. I was told by a political analyst that 85% of the time whoever is ahead after the first debate wins and if either canidate wins both NH and VA that you know who the winner is. I would not be surprised if this race is too close to call the night of the election and we do not find out till the next day. I just hope it doesn't drag on like Bush vs. Gore did.
September 11, 201214 yr Obviously there's a lot of game left but I believe Obama will win because I don't feel there are enough undecided voters left for Romney to overcome the electoral advantage that the president has. If he does hold on, there are no coattails and it looks right now like the republicans will have the house and senate. So, Obama will be serving from a weak position and the republicans will be holding hearings about all kinds of perceived wrongdoings by the administration. Both sides will be working more to make sure their opponent doesn't get a win rather than trying to find solutions to the problems we're facing. I'm getting depressed. I agree with this assessment; especially the last couple of sentences. While some may believe that an oppositional-defiant Congress is a good thing, I just don't get it.
September 11, 201214 yr Well I'm for "anybody but" and I see 75 cent's point but I think that Obama cannot hide from his record and the numbers are pretty sorry. Poverty levels are up, more people on food stamps, etc. However, it may be even more important to win the House and Senate than it is to win the presidency.

I just hope it doesn't drag on like Bush vs. Gore did. Let's say the RCP poll is accurate and Obama wins MI, CO, VA, NH, and NV. Romney wins the rest of the toss ups. In that scenario they each end up at 269. That's not all that unrealistic.
