August 29, 201214 yr Molina took a horrible hit and will be out for a while. Westbrook hit Harrison with a pitch below the waist. An appropriate retaliation. Cards are crybabies because of this. Question for you Card Haters... if this happened to a Reds player wouldn't you want your pitcher to do the same? I don't consider it being a cry baby but standing up for your team.

Honestly, I would and I don't blame the Cards for doing it. But then it's done. If a reporter asks about it, "It was handled". Then move on. Don't whine about it. However, they get that reputation after years of whining so.....

Molina was 3 feet up the line on the 3rd base side and gave Harrison no angle to slide. He put himself in harms way with his position and got flattened. Clean play 100%. You don't dot a guy for a clean play. That's simply not how it works and you know it...

I would want my pitcher to stick up for my teammates when they should. I think the crying stuff came for saying Harrison had room to slide instead of blasting Molina which he clearly didn't. Molina was clearly in way so in my mind it wasn't a dirty play.

Even if the first one was accidental you still see retaliation.

I didn't say it was a dirty play but teammates take up for one another no matter what the situation.
August 29, 201214 yr Apparently Carp took some issue with the collision. When I saw the play I knew Carp would be all over it, and I love it. Wish the team would have been a little more fired up. This is why I love Carp. Old school player who doesn't care about making any friends and that is why he is so respected in the clubhouse. He saw his guy get lit up out there and was going to let everyone know he didn't like it. I know Molina was in the way and everything but Harrison went at him like a safety. Molina has guts that's for sure, but if he is out for awhile the Cards will be in big trouble. IMO they're aren't many guys who mean more to their club than Molina. The play has the potential to be season changing.

August 29, 201214 yr I didn't say it was a dirty play but teammates take up for one another no matter what the situation. Absolutely. Listening to Bernie Mikalz and he was just saying how disapointing it would be if the Cardinals didn't stick up for their guy. Today should be a statement game for the Cards.

Funny how fans of other teams hate him but if he was on there side they would love him.
August 29, 201214 yr Author Most teams would love to have a player like Carp and the fans would to. Funny how fans of other teams hate him but if he was on there side they would love him. No doubt with Molina. You see that with players from every team. Phillips is an obvious one that Cardinal fans hate, but I'm sure would love to have. Pete Rose was the same way. I really don't have a problem with Molina. As I said with the first post, I would love to have him on my team. The way Carpenter has treated some of his teammates out in the field, and in the dugout, and the way he was whined about the balls being different at GABP is the reason most Reds fans hate him, and probably wouldn't want him on their team.
