August 12, 201214 yr I would be shocked if Smith is not the starter. By the end of the season, who knows what this team will put out on the field- the young guys may get a shot, especially if we are as bad as expected.

If UK is 2-5 and he plays Towles, you will see a lot of people upset. If we are going nowhere, I'd rather Towles just wait for 4 full years. With that said, I think Smith starts Sept. 2nd.

August 12, 201214 yr Max Smith will start & Newton will be the backup. But I think we'll see a lot of the Whitlow (sp?) kid under center for the Wildcat.

August 16, 201214 yr Smith, as a true freshman, was better than Newton before Newton was hurt. So, unless Smith has not improved at all, and Newton is better than last year, Smith has to be the starter.
August 18, 201214 yr Towells would be a mistake... if Trinity could shut him down big time I'm thinking an SEC defense might do the same... redshirt him and hope for the best in a year or two.
