I had labrum surgery 25 years ago. I understand that a lot of technology has changed and I was not a division one athlete. I was 25 years old and played softball and basketball a lot. It took at least two good years to get my shoulder close to what it was. I personally find it hard for Newton to have the arm strength he had last year. So give the kid credit, cause the work he has done has been above and beyond I'm sure. Its a painful rehab...

Towells would be a mistake... if Trinity could shut him down big time I'm thinking an SEC defense might do the same... redshirt him and hope for the best in a year or two.

Agreed, when T shut him down he didn't have a team of D1 players around him, that would have been pretty impressive on Trinity's part had that been the case though.

For me from a pure QB perspective I'm taking PT over JLo(and both were studs).

I think Smith. Newton is terribly inaccurate as a passer. If (when ?) the season goes south, I think Towles will play a lot....if for nothing more than public relations and trying to disperse the torches-and-pitchforks crowd.
