Heisey cf Valdez ss Phillips 2b Bruce rf Ludwick lf Frazier 3b Cairo 1b Hanigan c Cueto p Unless he's sick there is no reason for him to sit after going 4 for 7 the last 2 games. This one makes no sense especially since he has some good mojo going.

Dusty likes to rest starters in the last games of a series. He has done this consistently throughout the year. The Reds won the first two games of this series so they will win the series and that made it a lock for the subs to play. In addition, Cueto pitching so he sacrifices some offense to get the subs some action and some rest for the regulars.

If he is not sick or hurt he should be playing while he is swinging a good bat. He was struggling bigtime so Dusty sat him on Thursday. The last 2 games he goes 4 for 7 and what does Dusty do, he sits him down again, why? Like I said if he is not sick or not hurt then he should be playing.

I am not defending the move either. I am just pointing out this is how Dusty has done it all year so it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. It is probably more about getting the bench players at bats and off days don't help with that. That is another observation, not a defense of Dusty.
July 22, 201214 yr Sit down cheater!! (Braun) I love seeing the Reds pitching blowing the cheater up this weekend.
