I get a lot of people don't like the quality of food at BW's, but I guess I'm a different bird. I've literally never eaten anything I consider a bad "wing" from any establishment. :lol:

I don't like them either...but to me, that's like comparing apples to apple sauce.

I think Beef O Brady's food is god awful. Great spot for games and taking the kids but man they need to upgrade the food.

 

BW3's is overpriced and the wings are tiny. Give me Barleycorns wings anyday over them.

Popped in there one afternoon a few weeks ago when my daughter was in the Admissions office at NKU and had a PBR at the bar. Brought back a lot of memories....scary though when my daughter walked in and sat down next to me at the bar. I said...its time to go !!!! LOL

They really do have some of the better wings around. I was about to bring them up when people started name other places. They are a very good size and they definitely don't go light on the sauce. Good place to grab wings on a Monday Night.

I enjoy both BW3's in Lexington. Harrodsburg Road moreso than the one on Man o War.

I'm a frequent lunchtime guest of the BW3 on Dixie Highway in Louisville... especially if there are daytime sports to be watched.

Isn't there a new sports bar on N Fort Thomas Ave where Pogata's (sp) used to be?

I don't mind the Highlands B-Dubs but the OLD one in St. Matthews was easily the best. Had such a neighborhood bar feel with the patio and all. It was a shame when they moved to the corporate cookie-cutter location where it currently sits.

 

LOTS of time spent in that old St. Matthews location. St. Matthews is slowly being eaten alive and I don't think I can take it anymore. My post-Trinity-game White Castle was torn down for an Eclipse Bank; they turned BW3 into a bar I hate; they killed Dutch's and I assume it'll be a Panera Bread or something awful like that soon.

 

The BW3 right next to UD's campus in Dayton, Ohio has that same neighborhood bar feel. I remember hearing from the manager there that it's the smallest BW3 anywhere in the United States. When it's packed full of undergrads on a Friday night or full of fans during a Flyers game, it definitely feels tiny.

There is a Mio's there now. Hardly a Sports bar! There is somewhat of a Sports Bar on the other side of Highlands called the 915. Only downfall other than it's a smoke fest that time of night is that there is no one under the age of 18 allowed in the Bar past 10:00p.m. Crappy policy!!!! Which is a problem since Friday night games don't get over sometimes 9-9:30 and there isn't enough time to meet and greet after games and then go get something to eat with my family. The new BW3's when completed will be a very Hot spot for this Highlands fan on Friday nights.

I think we have the same place. A local told me to come down for pizza and beer one night because they had a huge TV in there. Thought that meant it was set up for sports. Couldn't remember the name of the old place. They had artsy Fartsy food and cheap beer before they got into a fight with the city. Also agree that 915 is a smoke fest. Probably a good rule to keep young ones out after 10:00.

Problem with 915 isn't as much it being a smoke room but more that the owner thinks its a restaurant. The food is marginal, service is awful and the help, although nice, are not very attractive. Nothing against them, but if you want to draw more patrons and increase alcohol sales you gotta hire some lookers. You don't make money on bar food you make it on booze. How they stay in business is beyond me. Convenience is all I can think of or maybe Wed night Burger night. I have gone by a few times on Saturday evening around 9pm and peeked in to see if I saw a local yokel and it has been literally empty. This is on more than one occasion. I present to you Dickmann's!!! Richard had this figured out a long long time ago. He also has very good food IMO. I wish he would open up a Dickmann's west in Hebron in front of the new Kroger's on 237. I think it would do very well drawing from Hebron and Burlington areas.
