June 21, 201214 yr Author I present to you Dickmann's!!! Richard had this figured out a long long time ago. He also has very good food IMO. I wish he would open up a Dickmann's west in Hebron in front of the new Kroger's on 237. I think it would do very well drawing from Hebron and Burlington areas. Always liked Dickman's. I haven't been there since they decided to ban smoking from the establishment, but I'm thrilled they did. I will admit that it kept me from there a few times in the past.
June 21, 201214 yr Problem with 915 isn't as much it being a smoke room but more that the owner thinks its a restaurant. The food is marginal, service is awful and the help, although nice, are not very attractive. Nothing against them, but if you want to draw more patrons and increase alcohol sales you gotta hire some lookers. You don't make money on bar food you make it on booze. How they stay in business is beyond me. Convenience is all I can think of or maybe Wed night Burger night. I have gone by a few times on Saturday evening around 9pm and peeked in to see if I saw a local yokel and it has been literally empty. This is on more than one occasion. The spot has so much potential if they would do some upgrades, bring in music, have a ladies night, curb the smoke just something other than the dark,, stale smoke smelling place it is currently. That is the MO with Ezzera who opens them and flips them. You can see him walking out of the kitchen with a dirty shirt and a cigarette lit up. They opened the hayloft and have to agree the waitresses were by no means stellar. I think this one is being treated like a bar, the kitchen closes very early. Food is not bad though. For bar food.

Wings are good, rest of the food is just OK at best. "TAC, your 12 inches of big meat is ready". I was last there the day before the smoking patio was to open. It looks nice and should allow a good mix of smokers outside and non smokers inside. Richard told me he was doing it because he thinks the ban will go county wide and he will be ahead of the curve with his smoking customers used to being on the patio.
June 21, 201214 yr BW3 is over priced crappy food. So they do have that going for them... I agree 100% gt..I ate at the Ft Wright location lastnight with family and was very disappointed with my food. Won't be going back there anytime soon.

Yep, the owner is one of the cooks and when he isnt slumped at the bar sipping out of his glass of Budweiser with ice he is shooing off kids. Puffing on a snipe, sipping Budweiser and glaring at people is a great look for an owner let me tell ya. LOL I used to go there out of pure convenience and to smoke a cigar with a Stella but now I drive the extra mile uptown to the Old Fort Pub.
July 2, 201214 yr Good news sports and beer fans. A new bar is going to open in the old BW3 location. The name is Dunkers. A couple of former long time BW employees will be running the show. They hope to open by September. Sports themed, trying to keep prices down and upgrade the burgers.

Put a ton of TV's like Longnecks and sell decent food with large portions.

July 23, 201214 yr Author I know that there was some speculation in this thread that a new BW3's may be opening down by the Kroger/Target in Newport, off of 471. Well I've heard from what I would consider a pretty reliable source that there will actually be a new BW3's going into the levee. Apparently they are going to go into where Bulldogs used to be, which used to be Jeff Ruby's Tropicana. Not sure how true it is, but the guy I heard from works as a Regional Sales Rep for Red Bull. July 23, 201214 yr And it was the one of the smokiest restaurants in America. It was awful in there for smoke. Couldn't agree more. This is the reason I never went there, maybe occasionally would stop by to get something to go. Can't stand the smoke.
