What are some sight seeing things to do as well?

 

Clingmans Dome offers a great view but the ash borer has really ravaged the surrounding trees.

It's been several years since we've been. Our favorite haunts were the Old Mill and Applewood.

 

Used to eat breakfast at a place called Bobo's Pie House, but I think that's long gone.

Even though we're not "outdoorsy", we would generally find a short hike or two that weren't too far off the beaten track. Also enjoyed the Cades Cove drive.

I like the outdoors part but not all the shows. I would rather go somewhere else as well but my daughter's dance competition takes us there. Last summer it was Branson.

Calhoun's for ribs in Gatlinburg is great. Nice selection of other items too but i can never pass up the ribs. They have a location in Pigeon Forge now too but i have never tried it.

We ate at the Calhoun's in Pigeon Forge back in April. It was good just like the locations in Nashville.

The old Mill is my favorite resturant there. Go early around 4-5 or you will have to wait in line. Huge portions, so some of you may want to share a meal. we ate at a new place last fall. Pear...??? right beside the Christmas store in Peigon Forge. Again huge portions and a little $$ so sharing a meal is a good ideal.

We had a great trip to Cades Cove. Got there about an hour before dark, which is perfect for seeing a lot of wildlife. Saw at least 50 deer, several wild turkeys and about 7 bears.

Roaring Fork Road is a nice little loop that you can drive thorugh the mountains and get some great views without getting too far out of Gatlinburg. We stopped and hiked up to Grotto Falls. It is very rewarding once you get there, but the hike up was pretty tough for a fat boy like me.

Mafia pizza next to BP down by Dollywood. The Alamo is really good.

That may be it. They had all of these desserts lined up as you walked in. They were really good to. Hard to decide which one to get.

 

Also there is this little sandwich shop in Gatlinburg, Mouse Trap, I believe is the name. It is up stairs of the shop, in the little shopping village where the pancake house is. Awsome sandwiches!!!!
