Gatlinburg: where to eat and to go?

Featured Replies

We are going in July for a few days for my daughter's dance competition. Where are some good places to eat and places to visit?

Thanks for any help.

Applewood Restaurant in Sevierville, it is on Apple Valley Road off of the main parkway that eventually goes through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg

Wood Grill Buffet has a great breakfast buffet.

2301 Parkway

Pigeon Forge,

The Aquarium is real nice

Smokey Mountain Brewery - There is one in Gatlinburg up towards the end by Ober, and then one, I believe, in Pigeon Forge. Good food and beer.

And the biggest Bass Pro Shop I have ever been to.

You like pancakes?

The Old Mill Restaurant and the Comedy Barn is a must for good clean fun .

Been there one time when we stayed just one night there. I couldn't remember the name. I had a chicken cheesesteak. It was very good.

Thanks

Bubba Gumps downtown Gatlinburg, Park Grill right before you go into the mountains is good but $$$, Bennetts BBQ located on river road is good. The Edgewater grill has great burgers; located in the Edgewater Hotel. The Alamo is $$$, and wasnt all that good. But if you want the best experience, take some sandwiches or chicken up into the mountains until you get to the Chimneys(riverside park) and eat by the river. If I think of more will get back with you, we try to go every year during fall break. Great time to go.

The old Mill is my favorite resturant there. Go early around 4-5 or you will have to wait in line. Huge portions, so some of you may want to share a meal. we ate at a new place last fall. Pear...??? right beside the Christmas store in Peigon Forge. Again huge portions and a little $$ so sharing a meal is a good ideal.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Keep them coming.

What are some sight seeing things to do as well?

There's a bunch of great places, but let me give you one that's kind of a hole-in-the-wall, but awesome - Best Italian Cafe & Pizzeria. It's up around stoplight 9 or so. Sits way in the back of a rather non-descript strip mall. Absolutely awesome pizza and rolls. You won't find pizza any better. If you go there and don't like it, I'll pay! (not really).

Too bad because there are pancake shops every other building in Gatlinburg.
