I don't think either can beat the teams from the West.

If he really was hurt that bad I don't see how he can be in good enough shape to contribute more than 25 minutes at playoff intensity.

I thought the fouls on Pierce and Lebron were both bad calls. Especially Lebrons.

Battier's charges are the most legit charges in the NBA. He truly gives up his body and takes one for the team every time he attempts to draw a charge. Flopping is when people act like they are fouled harder than what they really are. Battier doesn't flop as often as the average NBA player(see Lebron, Manu, Gasol, all Celtics when breathed on, etc) and yes he's been doing that since he has been at Duke. I believe he drew more charges at Duke than anyone.

I think the Heat, if healthy, can win. But after having seen both the Spurs & Thunder, I'm not sure they'll be able to.

On the last play, whether Wade blew off the play or not doesn't matter, that was as good a look at a 3 as you could hope for. I also heard Rick Carlisle talking on the Cowherd show. He said he did a loop of 80 last plays in NBA games and not a single one went as planned.

 

On Battier, the last foul on Pierce was not a flop IMO (and I am a Boston fan and I hate all the non legitimate charges called with a passion unmatched by anyone else you know). However, that charge called on the layup Pierce shot on the foul before that should have been a no call. Pierce did a nice job jumping to Battier's left, there was minimal contact that should not have been enough to knock Battier down and the contact occurred because Battier leaned toward Pierce as Pierce jumped to avoid him.

When will the Celtics' legs catch up with them? I am a long-time Celtics fan but am getting the impression they are just hanging on for dear life. Hope I'm wrong.

On Pierce's 5th foul, he slid to the side of Battier, who was already falling backwards before Pierce made what little contact there was, should have been a no-call. I also thought he slid under Rondo after he elevated and should have been called for a block. I will give Battier credit, he is willing to take a charge and he sells it well.

What was the deal on the walking call on Garnett? As much walking as goes uncalled in the NBA, to make that call at that critical point in the game was unreal. I saw Durrant in an earlier game take a pass on a fastbreak out past the 3 point line, did not dribble once, took three and a half long strides and dunk it without getting called for a walk.

I have no idea what that call was. He moved his pivot foot initially, but no call was made. It was a couple seconds following. The best blown call of the night was when Pierce went up the left side of the lane and Wade jumped in to him, body checked him and stole the ball in the air. No whistle.
