It was a home game for the Breds in Park Hills since Bartlett Field in Newport was not playable. NewCath Fr. Sarah Neace gets the 1st two ND batters out, but Amanda Meagher reaches on a dropped fly ball to right, the side is retired when the next batter, Maria Schaeffer, hits one to the same spot has Meagher and NC rightfielder Meghan Millard redeems herself with a nice sliding catch. The Breds send 4 to the plate in 1st but thats it. ND's Mickie Terry leads off the 2nd with a single, but is "cutdown" by NewCath Fr. catcher Kristine Schreiber on the steal attempt. The next batter walks, but the next 2 are retired. Schreiber leads off the NewCath 2nd with a single and moves over to 2nd on a sac-bunt from Taylor Burkart. After a strikeout, and Schreiber on 3rd, ND's Bridget Stewart throws one in the dirt that Schreiber would have scored on, but the ball "nicks" Sr. Hannah Jones, so it's a deadball. Loren Zimmerman groundsout to Schaeffer at 1st and thats the inning. ND racks up 3 in the 3rd, courtesy of 3 Breds errors. The inning starts off with strikeout of #9 batter Emma Jacobs, ND leading hitter Laura Finke gets a single, Hanna Sullivan bunts, and the ball is just out of the grasp of a diving Kristine Schreiber and all hands are safe. Finke steals 3rd and then with Sullivan stealing 2nd Schreiber throws to SS Michaela Ware, trying to catch Finke off guard, but Ware let's throw get past her and Finke scores. After Neace hits Meagher with a pitch, Schreiber throws one at the feet a Ware covering 3rd on steal attempt and the ball goes into left an another run scores. The next batter, Maria Schaeffer, hits a "laserbeam" to centerfielder Paige Immegart who drops the ball and the 3rd run of the inning crosses the plate. The next 2 go down, but the damage is done. The Breds go down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 3rd and ND, likewise in the top of 4. The Breds get their only run of the game in their half of the 4th. Immegart singles to right and Schreiber gets and infield single to the hole at short, following a strikeout of Burkart, Fr. Michaela Ware hits an RBI single over short. ND gets a 2 out RBI single from Schaeffer in the 5th. The Breds have them at 2nd & 3rd and 1 out in the 5th, but 2 K's end that threat. Both teams get a runner on in the 6th with 2 outs, but ZIP. ND gets a 2 out RBI single again off the bat of Schaeffer, but the Breds can only muster a 1 out single from Fr. Casey Kohls in the 7th and that's your ballgame.

For NewCath, Kristine Schreiber 2-3 and 2 runners caught stealing.

Forgot to mention, the NewCath JV team runs their record to 17-0-1 with a 7 inning, 6-4 win.
