Kentucky @ Georgetown in SEC/Big East Challenge

It's only the third meeting between the two teams. Besides 1984, they met in 1922. UK lost both games.

Nothing like some 90-year-old payback.

Is this official yet, if so what is the date on the game?

I don't think it's official, but I'm guessing mid-week in early December. Cats played St. John's on Thursday night, December 1st this past season.

How big is Georgetowns arena compared to UC's? If it is much bigger, then maybe that is why since they know with UK coming it will be a packed house. I have no idea, and good chance I am completely wrong on it but it was just a thought.

I honestly I think we will see UK/UC in two years once UK is playing at home for this SEC/Big East Challenge.

They play where the Wizards do I believe. Verizon Center. I walked by it about a year ago... right in the heart of D.C. I think by Chinatown if memory serves.

I agree, I would assume UK did not want to make two straight visits to the Shoe without getting a game at Rupp first.

I'm sure Cal was looking back at 1990 and telling ESPN no way...

Saw the Wizards play there once vs. the Hawks when Jordan was with the Wizards and Nazr was with the Hawks. Drove to Vienna, hopped the Metro and got right out at what was then called the MCI Center.

Good test for the young Wildcats.

Disappointed it's not UK v UC, mostly because it would have been fun around this area for a few days.

Georgetown may provide a decent road test, mostly because it will be so early in the year. But, it doesn't seem many early polls are very high on them for next year. UC may have provided a better early season test.

From a UK standpoint, it's a game in an NBA arena, decent perk. And it's a game in the DC area, which is still a pretty big recruiting hotbed. At the end of the day, that's probably the biggest benefit for UK in this game.

I'm disappointed, but for another reason. It would have been neat to see all of that blue in all of those green seats. It also would have been a grand way to kick-off the first year of the new Sun Dome. That and I could have gotten to see the Cats at a fraction of the normal rate. :D

My knee-jerk reaction when hearing UK Georgetown is "9%."

No Michael Graham, no sweat.
