Why would a team be more prepared for the post season by playing a true road game rather than at Lucas Oil or somewhere like that? Again, they aren't saying they won't play them. Actually they're saying here are the two days we can play you in your state. If that doesn't work they'll find someone to play. How is IU not at just as much fault? They're the ones insisting on a 4 year deal and a home and home later. In two years Calipari might be the coach of the Heat and they can work on a new deal. Get the 2 year one signed and worry about 4 years from now later.
May 31, 201214 yr IU's AD Fred Glass was just on the radio in Indy. He said all of his convos with Mitch have centered around a 4-year series yet Mitch's statement talked about a 2-year series. Says if the 2-year series as mentioned by Mitch is on campus it's a done deal.
May 31, 201214 yr UCLA fits that exact critera in my lifetime. We taking them off the list??? No. They have 11 titles to go with it and IU and Duke are separated by 1 championship(IU-5 and Duke-4). IU hasn't won a championship since 1987. Played in how many final fours or championship games since then? Duke has 1,971 victories(#4 all time) and began playing in 1906. IU has 1,690 victories(#11 all time) and began playing in 1901. Duke>IU.

My, my, some of you guys have some warped memories ... Ticket dispersal is 50/50. If IU is a top 5 all time program and the game is in their state where does UK gain an advantage? I will take the easy win (game never really felt in doubt) during late March and call that the better win. A 12 point win that late in the NCAA tournament is a blowout of sorts.
May 31, 201214 yr It's pretty simple. UK has pretty much said, "We aren't locking ourselves into anything for longer than two years." IU isn't okay with that. Both sides need to get over it. No one really cares that they aren't playing.

Cal doesn't want to do it & they're not going to do it. Personally, I don't like that, but it's reality. Cal has been the most accomplished coach in the country (IMO) upon his arrival at UK. Kind of hard to second guess his strategy anyway.
