June 3, 201214 yr Students would still attend . Pretty sure at most universities they close all the dormitories during the breaks, so unless it was students who lived off campus or their hometowns were close by it would not attract as many as they are trying to act like.

June 3, 201214 yr What is so weak about it? Why wouldn't it be an experience for the students if they were part of 50,000+ at Lucas Oil Stadium? The whole bit about doing it for the students and wanting a great student experience is void IMO when for one the date being discussed will fall during the Christmas break most likely throughout the 4 years of the contract, and since most students would be traveling to come to the game anyway, what's so bad about even more students being able to go to Lucas Oil and have a "tournament" type feel to it? That's all I'm saying. Using the student experience excuse as your sticking point is like I said, bringing the weak sauce.

Indiana takes that part seriously, as evidenced by the buyout offer.
June 4, 201214 yr IU wants to create experience for their students, which I think is great, hats off to them. Coach Cal wants to create a better experience for his players and create more revenue for the athletic program. In Cal I trust.

Not as a stand alone offer. THAT is what I suggested and what you said had already been offered by IU, which it clearly hadn't.

June 4, 201214 yr Oscar Combs was on KSR Friday & he stated his belief that the two teams would play this year. I believe Matt Jones also said Mike Pratt felt the same way. The only way that happens, IMO, is if IU gives up on trying to host UK at Bloomington.

Sounds like Indiana has been willing to make much more in concessions than Kentucky.
