May 31, 201214 yr IU doesn't need they game, they want the game because it is a historic regional rivalry. One of the most storied out of conference rivalries in the history of the game. IU NEEDS UK? Please indeed... You're right, IU doesn't need UK. I shouldn't have said that. However, I'd imagine that this game is more important to their powers at be, than Kentucky's. I don't want to see the series end at all, but I feel like the whole thing is blown extremely out of proportion by everyone. It's the third largest rivalry in the area IMO. Not to mention, it can still continue. Sure Kentucky looks worse, but what does that matter? I don't blame them at all for playing hard ball and saying neutral court or nothing at all. When you are the better historic program and better in recent years, you have that power.

UK countered with no dice because that one road game 4 years from now would mean the end of the UL series. It is all posturing and bs from the UK side...

May 31, 201214 yr My top 5 historic programs wouldn't have included IU, but I didn't want to turn the topic into arguing the unquestionable top 5, even though it seems they are being questioned. So why wouldn't IU just play two games at Lucas Oil...in their home state? Why do they have to have a home game? Sounds to me like they are sticking to their guns, just as much as UK. It's all stupid.

They are saying we'll play you in your home state the next two years in a huge stadium that more prepares UK for Regional and Final Four type games. Didn't UK kind of repay that loss at IU by blowing them out in the game that mattered? Maybe Tom Crean should take a page out of his friend Calipari's book and try to get his teams some experience in huge football stadiums.
