June 27, 201214 yr Author Do any of you guys know if EZLinks or GolfNow are legit websites? It seems the idea of it is to give golf courses the opportunity to fill up tee times that i assume they have trouble filling by offering a discount at these times, or just to get business in general...For instance according to the Hickory Sticks website its $40 per person for 18 with a cart on the weekends but thru golfnow.com I can book a Tee Time at 11am this Sunday for $18 per person for 18 with a cart...That's a 55% discount...I'm wanting to take my dad golfing on Sunday as we are both working on getting back into it but we are pretty rusty and it's hard to fork over a lot of money to go and stink it up  I have been over on the golfwrx forum quite a bit reading about clubs and such and read a thread about these places, most over there say they are legit but I was wondering if any BGPers have used these sites before? Golf now is in fact a legit site and is awesome. They have great deals, played a course up in Bethel that was $12.50 a person for 18 holes plus the cart. They have a ton of courses on there, if any thing I think it's a great way to check out some other courses you've never played when they're offering low prices.

First place I go whenever planning golf. Between it and the stuff on halfpricecincy,dealchicken,etc... I'm all set on golf.
June 27, 201214 yr Thanks for your help guys...I live on a golf course right now with my parents but theres no way I can afford to pay for the yearly memebership to playthe there when I never really know when I want to golf or when I have time to, Plus Id rather not spend all my money on one course and feel locked into playing only that one course...
June 29, 201214 yr Q, next time I'm up that way, let's play! We can play for your visor. I don't have enough hair left to pull that off but always wanted to. My Titleist Visor is looking a little rough. Sure thing man, I will have you up the club so you can see what its like to play on hills and putt on concrete greens. LOL

July 7, 201214 yr I'm still looking for my first par. Almost had it the other day on a par 3 but my chip went far and I settled for a bogey. I recently purchased a set of Nike Slingshot irons And I just got a Nike Machspeed Str8-fit Driver. I have read a lot of good things on the driver so I'm excited I test it out.
July 9, 201214 yr My game has been rapidly improving this summer. I'm starting to consistently shoot mid-80's and I'm hitting the fairway much more consistently off my drive (using a 3W mind you). Putting game is about the same though, so I'm really going to start working on that. According to my GolfLogix app, my average putts per hole rating is 1.81, so it's still one of the better parts of my game. Just not where I want it to be. My biggest problem is consistent ball striking. I still find myself topping the ball or hitting it off the club head way too often for my liking. This adds strokes to my score that are both unacceptable and embarrassing, and can really kill an otherwise great day. Hopefully that will improve the more I play though. I also need some more touch when chipping around the green. The ball always seems to go a little further than I'd hoped. This game just gets more and more addicting... I guess I'm in it for life now.
July 9, 201214 yr Author Only a matter of time before the First Annual BGP Golf Outing takes place. I'm game, I'm going to put me to shame.

July 10, 201214 yr Author Excited to play tomorrow, played last monday and the heat about killed me. Really looking forward to tomorrow being not nearly as hot.
July 10, 201214 yr Shot my best round on Sunday in the heat. Played the front 9 at Highland Country Club and was on fire. Birdied the #5 hole which is a par 5 and has two doglegs and is very very tight. My drive was about 220 but my 2nd shot was about 220 out and I hit a worm burner that went sraight but only 50 yrds. My 3rd shot I absolutely crushed and chased it up to the green rolling past the flag and off the fringe into the low cut grass about a foot off. I was about 20 feet out with downhill putt off the grass and I drained it, couldn't believe it. My chipping touch just wasnt there so I thought why not putt it and it hit the bottom of the cup. I had a 27 heading into the final 3 holes on the front 9. Number 7 is an elevated Par 3 about 184 yrds, Number 8 is a Par 4 with Sand surrounding the green and Number 9 is a Par 4 as well. I fell apart and ended up finishing with a freakin 44 !!!! Three straight Double Bogies but it actually was still my best round of 9. I am a 26 Handicap and normally shoot mid to low 90's. My putting has really gotten much better and I was coming off the tee well but my irons from 150 in are what I really need work on. Hoping to play a couple times this week as my boss just left for vacation today so when the cat's away the mice will play. LOL
