Is Jesus Black or White?

Featured Replies

I would assume he was Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in appearance. Shorter, thick and somewhat bristly hair and beard, darker skin tone. Something like this:

I think you just described this guy...

What if he's purple? Or maybe even blue like Poppa Smurph? I was always like to think of Jesus as:

"I like to picture Jesus in a tuxedo t-shirt because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party."

"I like to picture Jesus as a figure skater. He wears like a white outfit, and He does interpretive ice dances of my life's journey."

"I like to think of Jesus as a mischievous badger."

All courtesy of Talladega Nights.

He was Jewish so he probably looked Jewish. Olive Skinned, Dark eyebrow, big nose, and dark eyes.

His Mother was also Jewish, the Bible never really talks about him being different than the other Jewish men he hung around with. In the movie King Of Kings Jeff Hunter was very white and blue eyes.

Jesus is whatever you imagine him to be. That picture is definitely not how I see him; besides, I'm partial to blue eyes.

I both agree and disagree with what you say. Jesus was an actual, physical person, so he physically couldn't be something different to different people and very likely he looked like from the area he was born in. However, Jesus's image now is of little consequence. It is what he EMBODIES now, not what his BODY was like, that is important.

So if Jesus is walking amongst us today he's definitely getting stopped by TSA.
I've been stopped and patted down by them, I don't look Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in any way.

My guess would be He looked Middle Eastern/Mediterranean, but I don't care how He looked. The fact that He's my Lord and Savior is all that matters to me.

You think that's bad? I got wiped down for bomb residue...and I think I may have been sniffed at some point too.

This a painting that a little girl painted from dreams she had of meeting Jesus. This is the only picture that Colton Burpo "Heaven is for real", said looked like Jesus. He had been shown numerous pictures and paintings of Jesus but said that all of them were off somehow. When Colton saw this painting he stopped and said that it was right.

^ Then again, he could have just seen what he wanted to see.

Jesus frosts his tips?

Could be. I just know that in the book, he was shown several pictures and paintings but none were accurate until he saw this one. He saw many pictures over a period of time, it wasn't like he was looking at mug shots, just any picture of Jesus that they saw they asked him and he said all were wrong until this one.

This was painted by a young girl, I think she was trying to show light coming from the left side of the painting.

Is that any different from the psychological and sociological tests that ask little girls whether they prefer the black Barbie or the white Barbie? Forgive me, but I'm feeling very skeptical on this one.

Wouldn't expect anything else from you.
