NKY Freshmen scores thread

Dixie was in the field, so most of the team was not in the dugout. However, there were still a few players in the dugout who were not currently in the game.

Then that is a problem.

Highlands 10 Cooper 0 last night. "Baby Birds" are getting fun to watch with only 3 freshmen and the rest are seventh and eighth graders there is a light shining in fort thomas!

Keeping the talent playing baseball is the challenge in Ft. Thomas.

Agree but some baseball first kids in the younger ranks. I truly believe that the 7,8,9 ranks have moxie and for more than a few the preferred sport is baseball. I think this group is in for the long haul.

The JV Birds have been impressive lately also, winning 5 of their last 6 with the loss coming against Cinti St. X - a game the Birds lead for the majority of the time & could have won with one or two fewer walks. JV Birds are playing with some swag, and are a fun team to watch. Put the current varsity sophs & frosh down on JV and you really have a solid club.

Conner beat Dixie last night 12-5. Conner scored 8 runs in the top of the 1st. Dixie played very sloppy with several errors. On a side note, the Dixie coach pulled his team off the field in the top of the 6th inning. There was a play at the plate and the Conner player slid hard into home in what appeared to be a hard, but legal slide. He cleated the catcher and the Dixie coach went crazy and pulled his team off the field in protest. In the first Dixie-Conner meeting this same coach was ejected for arguing a call.

Forgot to mention the Dixie coach, while walking off the field in protest, threw a baseball from around the pitcher's mound into the Dixie dugout quite hard.

I recommend you get your facts straight before you start spreading stories that have people calling for someone's job.

Agree with statement. Some key varsity contributions. Coming from 9,10 so JB has to be happy with pipeline. Have enjoyed watching the the group.

Mustang you may need to look in your back yard, your AD was ejected in a JV Softball game.

Embarrassing

What are the facts?

The slide was not legal. The runners cleats were up into the catchers chest which caused the catchers leg to be caught underneath him while his upper body twisted very awkwardly causing serious injury to his leg.

The coach was arguing about why player safety rules were not being enforced when that is supposed to be the emphasis.

Dixie's coach has not been ejected from a game.

Forgot to mention the Dixie coach, while walking off the field in protest, threw a baseball from around the pitcher's mound into the Dixie dugout quite hard.

The coach threw the ball from closer to the first base than the mound into the air and it two hopped before it rolled down the stairs.

And no players were in the dugout as they were lining up to shake hands.

Mel Webster has a history of acting like a horse's butt. No pun intended. And that, my friends, are straight facts. On to freshman scores...

Highlands seems to be improving. Does Cooper have 7th, 8th, 9th graders as well?

NewCath 11 Ryle 4

NewCath 10 Campbell Co 3

Great pitching performances from Greg Crawford, Matt Striegal, Zack Pangallo and Leo Barth. Breds really hit the ball well and had some serious web gems from: Brandon Gray (ss), Derek Dew (RF), Clint Bartels (CF) & Greg Crawford (LF) in the Campbell Co game.

Scott 10, St Henry 0 in 5 innings. Something I've never seen once happened 4 times at this game. 4 times Scott batters were hit with pitches, and none were awarded 1st base, because they didn't "attempt" to get out of the way.
