Bo is a force. Standing 6"5" on the mound can be overwhelming and be a dominating figure out there.

Haven't seen schuh pitch but I can imagine he is imposing on the hill. I thought he was having back problems. Glad he is healthy

Don't you think a kid at that age should already know to tag up in that situation?

Absolutely... But if all 13 year olds did what they are supposed to do there would be no reason to have the coaches in the first place.

You're right.... I am cancelling my ESPN, stopping the newspaper and rippng the radio out of my car first thing in the morning!!! I would hate to hear anyone being critical of any coaches i.e. Marvin, Dusty, Billy G. even Coach Cal... Hey tell you what... I'll run by the store and get some orange slices to go with your "Blue Kool-Aid" for between games tomorrow. Hopefully we can talk them into not using the scoreboard so nobody's feelings get hurt (Hopefully Henry Clay's).

BTW... If you have to subscribe in order to post to a forum, then it is not a public forum...

Go Bird's Rack up a couple W's from your Lexington foe tomorrow

Classic disgruntled parent with a new username. It's all good! LOL!!!

Good luck to Birds today all around.

Talent yes.... Coaching???? Wonder if he would even coach if there wasn't, even though it's small, a paycheck.... Down 2 runs in a ballgame... hard flyball to right... runner on third.... Not one word said about tagging .... Batter did his job... Coach too busy daydreaming with his hands in his pockets... Talent ended up winning the game... Just one example.... Could list many for every game I've been to.

Where you there early enough to see the right fielder's arm? What kind of speed did the runner on third have? Who was the next batter up? How many out were there at the time? If the catch made one out and if the guy gets gunned at the plate with the three hitter on deck, maybe it wasn't such a bad decision. Being down 2 runs with no one on base is tough to score runs. But I'm sure you thought about all that with the expertise you have shown in you previous two comments on here.... Oh and, go birds!

Agree with what you are saying here BB and what Ft. Bronc said in his post. The last few games that I have seen the frosh and JV, I firmly believe that this program is really on the verge of taking off. Just hope that the young talent continues to play the game so that JB and the coaches can reap what they have sewn over the last few years. I personally know of 5 current 8th graders that would be assets to this program in addition to what they already have, but chose not to play for various reasons. All 5 however will be playing this summer and the hope is that next year they have a change of heart and give the high school baseball program a shot.

JOAT do not take this as a personal shot at you but you know the kids that are out there busting their tails day in and day out really do not need to here about the "five" that are coming to play next year. They are getting a great leg up on those five (whoever they are and I have no clue in that regard). Personally as a player I would be upset with those "five" for not putting the time and effort into playing this year. And depending on the level of baseball they play (KNothole and SWOL American Bronze being examples of not really good baseball) they could be much further behind then they could anticipate. Good luck to the Birds who are playing!!!!! Thye deserve accolades not well they might get some added help next year.

Words of wisdom from one that "doesn't know" the 5 players....now that is pretty funny right there! You and I both know JOAT meant that there is a lot of baseball talent at HMS and some of those kids are not playing baseball due to working out for Frosh football...leading to never playing baseball for Highlands.

Personal shot clearly taken and frankly not surprised considering the source. One of the five is on your team so there you go. Not saying they are going to play next year, just saying they would be benefits to the program if they chose not to play. Each has chosen not to play for various reasons, none of which have to be explained to you or anyone else. I simply wish that they would play because I know that they can more than compete. You keep bashing the team that they play for if that makes you feel any better because they have had success whether it be Knothole, Division 1 or SWOL. They were more than competitive in the dozen or so games that they played last year against SWOL competition.

Now back to the real purpose of the thread and that is frosh baseball scores. Highlands was swept in a doubleheader yesterday by Henry Clay.

Could someone tell me when the frosh tourney is and whether or not the draw has been held yet and where the games are being played.

Disappointed TOG considering this is all about your "good friend's" baseball program. Yeah, sit back and watch outsiders try to meddle into a program and stir the pot. Oh, it will be football season soon enough my friend! LOL!!! It's all good.

So why get on me?

I have posted and am on record as saying that JB is an outstanding coach.

BTW I was at the HHS vs. CovCath frosh game and I had a nice chat with the 3rd base coach before the game as well. HHS is young, very young and is going through some growing pains but they played a rather good game in their loss to CovCath.

Well........fascinating responses to get all defensive and all....but my point is the thread is about players WHO ARE PLAYING! Considering I do not know who all is on the freshmen roster with the exception of a handful of players, no I would not know who the "five" that you speak of......Further my point is they should be playing baseball now in high school and not waiting...............Because waiting tends to make players not play.........And with the coaching staff you have in baseball I do not know why you would not want to play.......But to bust out an "Omega Rockets" reference well first and foremost they have some excellent players and have added some excellent players for this season; not to mention they are fine young men. And I do not believe I have ever made any reference to that team or its coaches in any derogatory fashion in this forum whatsoever. Please spend less time reading between the lines and more just the direct message. I really do not have the intelligence level of several of you on here who can send cryptic messages.............

Now as far as the talent level; yes the talent level is excellent, but again I do not think you can judge it by those that choose not to play, but rather judge it by those that are playing.

I recommend you get your facts straight before you start spreading stories that have people calling for someone's job.

I guess your interpretation of what happened is going to be a little biased depending on if you were there as a Conner or Dixie fan. I was at this game and saw everything with my own eyes. In my opinion (and the umpire's) the slide was legal. I know the catcher was in pain and I hope he has fully recovered. And as I stated earlier most of the Dixie kids were not in the dugout when the ball was thrown but there were still a few lingerers in there. I'm not sure it really matters if he was on the mound when the ball was thrown or closer to first base as you state, but the ball was thrown and was thrown hard.

I was indeed there and saw everything with my own eyes as well. The dugout was empty and a ball thrown in the air that two hops into the dugout is not that hard of a throw. Plus the ball would not have gone into the dugout had it not been for a right hop off the red rock warning track in front of the dugout.
