NKY Freshmen scores thread

How is the Campbell County freshman team?

Hard to say. The Campbell County starting pitcher kept the ball around the plate which is good but CCH was able to manage a few runs with timely hitting. CCH had at least 5 errors and a dozen wild pitches/passed balls that should have been blocked by the starting cather with Campbell County runners on base. I think all of the runs scored by Campbell County may have been unearned. All in all both teams did not play well. It was like watching a knothole game.

CCH over St Henry 14-6.

Cincinnati St. Xavier 4 Highlands 3 (in 9 innings). 7th grader Ethan Doty throws 7 strong innings for the Birds. Birds hit the ball hard most of the game but it seemed every ball was hit right @ a St. X player. Connor Kreeger leads the Birds with 3 hits.

Lykins appears to be doing a good job in his 1st year as Frosh Coach at HHS. Lots of talent in the pipeline.

Newcath 15 Brossart 10 (4/10/12). You could tell Newcath had been off an entire week for holy week.

Scott beat Cooper 7-5, and is now 4-4 on the season.

HHS 9 Campbell County 8. Birds battle back from a 7-1 deficit to win with a run scoring single by Kenny Ball in the bottom of the 7th. After starting the year 0-4, the Birds' frosh record is now 6-9.

Boone beat Ncc 1 - 0 really good pitch game for both teams. I haven't seen Ncc play this year have a good team thier

pitcher was good changes speed thier Shortstop is really good and can really hit the ball the kid looks like a athlete. Boone is improving they had some kids play down that play jv so they can get swings in. All in all real good game to watch.

CCH beat Dixie 6-1 behind a strong outing by Brian Haughey. Dixie's starting pitcher went 5 innings and then caught the last 2. That is a recipe for disaster.

Scott's freshman lose to Brossart on Thursday in an ugly game 24-11 (might have been worse, I lost track). They came back last night to shutout NCC 6-0. Jake Ohmer threw 6 shutout innings.

Scott plays two today at noon vs Cov Cath, and at 2 vs Cooper.
