Interesting, I thought I read where a student from NCC got a perfect score of 36 on their ACT last year. How many of those schools can say that they have a student who got a perfect score. I would think that doesn't happen too often.

 

Someone did get a perfect scrore - which is scary, because even with a perfect score averaged in, NCC was still at the bottom. And remember, this is not a mandatory test - only students planning on going to college take it.

I thought it did become mandatory for all Ky high school students and they take it in their junior year.

I could give a poop less about average ACT scores. A lot of that depends on taking ACT prep classes and learning how to take the test. How many kids graduate from college from a high school is a better indication of how effective a school's curriculum is. I don't know what those stats are, but to look at a standardized test and say, "See, that school is crap!" presents things in a very narrow perspective.

As we looked at high schools for our kids, never was their ACT averages taken into consideration. We looked at which school would be a good fit for each child, the pros and cons of each school and what we were looking to get out of our children going to whichever school we chose. As it turned out, they are all attending or have attended different schools in the area with one at NCC currently. I could not be more happy with that decision as it is a perfect fit for her.

Wise words and I would add ... don't take anything personal because nobody on this site knows you. Step back, take out the emotion and look at analysis/opinion of your football skills to see if it is fair and an opportunity for improvement.

As predictable as BGH is when Brossart wins, so are the NCC faithful in saying test scores don't matter when they see NCC is at the bottom. It's not that they don't matter. It's that they aren't the total picture when it comes to quality of education, and that's where the argument had gotten to. Of course they matter, how many scholarships can you get with a 25 on your ACT compared to a 31? They are just not the end all/be all.

What do ACT scores have to do with this young man attending NCC? Go over to GD and start a new thread if you want to discuss ACT scores.
