Let's be fair here - you're comparing a format that has been around since 1932 (when it became and stayed 16 regions) to one that in its current iteration has existed for 2 years. At best, baseball's format has been around since 1976 when the regions became the same as that of basketball. It's different.

I went to last years state baseball tourney, and there were more people in the hospitality room at the sweet16 than at the games we attended. Apples and anvils if you ask me.

I attended most of the Baseball State tourney games too and indeed some games were not well attended but then again it doesn't mean no one follows HS baseball.

I didn't change any posts. I stand by what I said. You can't compare the following, nor the post season of baseball and basketball. Not in this state anyway. Comparing the post season of basketball and baseball is simply comparing apples and anvils. Not sure where there is a breakdown in translation. If I wasn't clear, I apologize. They ain't on level playing fields, and shouldn't be compared to one another with regards to how their respective postseasons are played in my opinion.

 

With regards to this site, and others of this ilk, I think you can look at the numbers and see that baseball fodder is a blip on the radar in comparison.

I was going to say the same thing.

If you took a poll of the average high school sports fan in Ky and asked them about the baseball postseason I bet 50% would have no clue as to how it is ran.

 

And I follow high school baseball. A lot of people don't.

You didn't change your comment and I apologize for that comment but again your first comment was No One and maybe in a lot of Regions in Ky that is true but the Ninth Region Baseball gets some pretty good post on BGP's and from just not me!

I would say the players who have won state champuonships have liked it but its not like high school sports are supposed to be about the kids or anything.

 

The state tournament is about the kids. Just as the district and regional tourneys are. Does the state tournament turn a profit?

You're right. So why cheapen the moment for the kids? That's what's wrong with our society now. Always trying to make sure EVERY kid goes home happy the easiest way possible for the kids instead of having them have to actually struggle, work hard and face a little adversity to accomplish a goal.
