nWo Posted June 28, 2018 Share Posted June 28, 2018 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Northeastern Arkansas Southern Illinois Extreme southwestern Indiana Western Kentucky Southeastern Missouri Northwestern Tennessee * Effective this Thursday afternoon and Friday morning from 530 PM until 100 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...A complex of severe thunderstorms, with a history of damaging/severe gusts, is expected to maintain wind-damage potential as it moves through a favorably moist/unstable air mass across the watch area this evening. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75 statute miles either side of a line from 15 miles east northeast of Evansville IN to 40 miles southwest of Poplar Bluff MO. REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
