Ronald McDonald House Classic tomorrow (Sat 12/9/17) at Oldham County HS in Buckner.

This is a fantastic cause....I actually spent a week at the Louisville RMH when my oldest son was born and spent a month in Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. These folks fill a tremendous need for families that are at their emotional, mental, and sometimes financial limits. December is a tough time to draw a crowd on Saturdays....I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a day of basketball and support a really important charity.

Most are boys' games, but the Oldham County Lady Colonels will face the Lady Panthers of Carroll County around 3:30ish.

First year Carroll County coach Ron Henderson is in his first job as a head coach. The former assistant at Oldham County HS has his first Lady Panther squad off to fast start at 3-0 with wins over Western Hills, Trimble County, and Shelby County. Abigail Aulbach is off to a terrific start: 15.3 ppg, 13.7 rebounds/game, all while shooting 55% from the floor!

Aulbach is one of just three seniors on this young Carroll squad that faces Owen County in a big 31st district seeding game tonight, prior to tangling with the Lady Colonels tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Chris Jefferson's second Oldham County team is already started to get some notice. Though the Lady Colonels are just 1-1 so far (4 point overtime loss to Assumption coupled with a big win over North Hardin), they are deep, have a little size, and some decent shooters. Oldham is hitting 48% beyond the arc, averaging 6.5 made threes a game....that said, they are hitting only 52% of their FTs (ouch).

Sophia Head leads the Lady Colonels at 17.5 ppg and is 6 of 8 beyond the arc so far(!). Trimble County transfer Bailey Duke seems to be blending in nicely; she is second on the team in scoring at 11.5 ppg. Lakynn Goldsmith, who showed flashes of great potential on the inside last year off the bench, leads the team on the glass at 5.5 rebounds a contest.

Oldham plays Trimble County tonight in a key 29th district seeding game.

If you cannot make the game, the game will be broadcast on Pegasus Sports (The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN) Better yet, come to the game and watch the archived broadcast later!

Both teams with big wins last night...

Carroll County moved to 4-0 with a 45-38 win at home against Owen County - the first loss of the season for the Lady Rebels.

And Oldham County staked out their claim as the early favorites in the 29th district with a convincing 75-22 victory over Trimble County, moving the Lady Colonels to 2-1. Oldham County averaging 60 ppg in the first three contests.

Though it's early, both teams have a common opponent; Carroll beat Trimble County 45-33 on 12/1/17.

Looking forward to this one; I'll try to post updates during our broadcast.
