LakeCumberlandSports.com is an internet broadcast and media company out of Somerset, KY founded by four guys who love High School Sports and love broadcasting! When local radio decided to opt out of airing High School Sports; We decided to jump in. In 2016, we worked with an out of state company and did well. Starting in 2017, we decided to do this all by ourselves and we have been in Overdrive ever since.

 

We have been named the Official Broadcast Partners for both Southwestern and Pulaski County High Schools. We will be doing Football, Basketball (Boys and Girls), as well as Baseball, and Softball in the spring. We may even sneak in some other sports as well.

 

We can be found at LakeCumberlandSports.com and on Tune-In. All games will be archived throughout the season, so if someone misses a game we will have them covered.

1. Belfry Pirates (3A, 9-1)- The Pirates score 35 unanswered to take down Johnson Central and earn the right to be called the best in the East.

 

2. Corbin Redhounds (3A, 9-1)- The Redhounds wrap up an impressive regular season by outlasting Knox Central.

 

3. Wayne County Cardinals (4A, 9-1)- The Cardinals' lone loss was a very good Boyle County team. Coach Thompson's boys have their eyes on their first State Title.

 

4. Ashland Tomcats (4A, 8-2)- Ashland has to like their playoff draw and the fact a re-match with Johnson Central would be at historic Putnam Stadium.

 

5. Johnson Central Golden Eagles (4A, 8-2)- The Eagles enter November with rare back to back losses. Matney's crew looked good for a Half but now must re-group with a tough playoff path awaiting.

 

6. Southwestern Warriors (5A, 8-2)- Patric Edwards was superb as the Warriors won a shootout with Lexington Catholic. Southwestern has to think this is their best shot at getting that elusive Regional Title.

 

7. Paintsville Tigers (1A, 9-1)- Paintsville put the final strokes on an eye opening regular season by crushing Fleming County. Is this the year Paintsville gets to the promised land?

 

8. Somerset Briarjumpers (2A, 6-4)- Somerset has a nice spot in the Top 10, but the Jumpers have to feel they have unfinished business after a disappointing third place finish in their District. Can they become road warriors and shock the 2A world?

 

9. Hazard Bulldogs (1A, 7-2)- Hazard held on against Whitley County for one last quality win. The goal now is getting back to the Finals, but it won't be easy.

 

10. Montgomery County Indians (5A, 8-2)- The Indians finalized their surprising season with a close win over Lincoln County. Can they make noise in the playoffs?

 

11. Knox Central Panthers (4A, 7-3)- The Panthers made it interesting against Corbin but could not get the plays they needed down the stretch. The mission now is earning a re-match with Wayne County to redeem their earlier loss.

 

12. Raceland Rams (1A, 6-4)- Raceland took down rival Russell and now looks to embrace the role of spoiler.

 

13. North Laurel Jaguars (5A, 8-2)- The Jags took their District Title and now get to enjoy playing at home for a while. Can their ground and pound Offense make a run?

 

14. Rockcastle Coutny Rockets (4A, 7-3)- Rockcastle kind of faltered drown the stretch and nearly fell to Garrard County in the finale. The last time Wayne County and Rockcastle met tensions were high, expect them to see each other in Round 2.

 

15. Whitley County Colonels (5A, 6-4)- Whitley was playing a good brand of ball in recent weeks until a set-back to Hazard. The Colonels will look to re-focus for a November push.

 

16. Fleming County Panthers (3A, 8-2)- With a chance to make a statement the Panthers got beat thoroughly by Paintsville. Fleming will have one of the toughest 4-seed match-ups to open the playoffs.

 

17. Harlan County Black Bears (5A, 5-5)- The Bears get to .500 against a tough schedule by taking down Bell County. Harlan County will travel to Pulaski County for a familiar foe, the Bears have played the Maroons well in recent years.

 

18. Pulaski County Maroons (5A, 4-6)- It was a disappointing season for the Maroons who suffered nearly as many losses as the past three years combined. They can make amends if they can get some post-season magic.

 

19. Greenup County Musketeers (4A, 6-4)- The Musketeers lost four games to teams ranked ahead of them in this poll. Bourbon County will be one of the more intriguing First Round playoff games.

 

20. Perry Central Commodores (5A, 7-3)- Perry Central ended a three game skid by taking down a game Prestonsburg team. The Commodores get a tough draw to open the playoffs.

 

21. Russell Red Devils (3A, 5-5)- It was a down year for Russell standards as they limp to a .500 record. WanDale Robinson and Western Hills will be tough to avoid a losing season against.

 

22. Pikeville Panthers (1A, 5-4)- The Panthers played an extremely difficult schedule for a 1A team with all of their losses coming to teams in their respective class' Top 5. The Panthers are peaking and may have some dark horse in them.

 

23. Bath County Wildcats (3A, 7-3)- The good news for Bath is they reached a new high-point this season and were one of the more pleasant surprises in EKY. The bad news is they have to open with Lexington Catholic and their dynamic Offense.

 

24. Prestonsburg Blackcats (2A, 6-4)- Prestonsburg may have overachieved a bit this season and have some hardware to show for it. The Blackcats need to take full advantage of their home field drawing the toughest District in Class 2A.

 

25. Floyd Central Jaguars (3A, 7-3)- How about Floyd Central? The Jags get a home playoff game in their innaugural year and showed great promise. Can they get a playoff win on the the mountain top?
