LakeCumberlandSports.com is an internet broadcast and media company out of Somerset, KY founded by four guys who love High School Sports and love broadcasting! When local radio decided to opt out of airing High School Sports; We decided to jump in. In 2016, we worked with an out of state company and did well. Starting in 2017, we decided to do this all by ourselves and we have been in Overdrive ever since.

We have been named the Official Broadcast Partners for both Southwestern and Pulaski County High Schools. We will be doing Football, Basketball (Boys and Girls), as well as Baseball, and Softball in the spring. We may even sneak in some other sports as well.

We can be found at LakeCumberlandSports.com and on Tune-In. All games will be archived throughout the season, so if someone misses a game we will have them covered.

If you would like to advertise with us we can be reached by email at sales@lakecumberlandsports.com

15. Fleming County Panthers (3A, 7-1)- The Panthers locked up the District Title and drained the Bath. The Panthers take on Fleming County next as their Offense continues to roll.

14. Knox Central Panthers (4A, 6-2)- Knox was very impressive in shutting out fellow 4A Franklin County. The Panthers have a huge game against Rockcastle with a chance to earn a home field playoff game.

13. Pulaski County Maroons (5A, 4-4)- Pulaski wasn't particularly sharp against lowly South Laurel. The Maroons need to hope they were just looking ahead, which would be easy with rival Southwestern next.

12. Montgomery County Indians (5A, 6-2)- The Indians had one of the better wins in EKY this week by taking down a solid Anderson County team. Montgomery puts their District slate to rest against Woodford County as they hope Anderson can force a 3-way tie.

11. Raceland Rams (1A, 5-3)- Raceland dominated Fairview and now set their eyes on the top 1A team in EKY, Paintsville. Can the Rams pull out the upset?

10. Ashland Tomcats (4A, 7-2)- Ashland got all they wanted from Greenup but were able to pull away late for the win thanks to Braxton Ratliff. The Tomcats close their season with hated rival Johnson Central.

9. Hazard Bulldogs (1A, 5-2)- Hazard's Defense was up to the challenge but their Offense just could not get going against Paintsville in a tough loss. Hazard takes on a reeling Leslie County next.

8. Rockcastle County Rockets (4A, 6-2)- It was business as usual for Rockcastle as they rolled to victory. Thins get amped up this week with a major District Showdown.

7. Somerset Briarjumpers (2A, 5-4)- Somerset was shown their place in their District pecking order as Lexington Christian handled them with relative ease. Middlesboro will be what the Doctor ordered to get some positive momentum back.

6. Paintsville Tigers (1A, 7-1)- Paintsville didn't win in the prettiest fashion, but any time you can take down Hazard it is a good win. The Tigers can not let up with a solid Raceland team next.

5. Southwestern Warriors (5A, 6-2)- The Warriors are surging and left little doubt against Lincoln County. Now is the game they circle their calendars for.

4. Wayne County Cardinals (4A, 8-1)- Wayne continues to roll on and made short work of Russell County. The Cardinals take a week off before ending the season with a solid Madison Southern team.

3. Corbin Redhounds (3A, 7-1)- Sophomoric antics by Bell County adults could not stop Corbin from rolling to a running clock victory. Corbin now goes for the District Title against an undefeated Casey County team.

2. Belfry Pirates (3A, 7-1)- Belfry had no hangover from a big win and dominated Lawrence County to all but lock up the District Title. Pike Central is the only hurdle before potentially the EKY Regular Season Championship game.

1. Johnson Central Golden Eagles (4A, 8-0)- Another week another win. Johnson Central overwhelmed Rowan County and now begin a tough two game stretch with rival Ashland.

Five Big Wins:

Shelby Valley Wildcats (2A, 4-4)- Shelby Valley has been quiet all season but they did themselves a favor by beating Leslie County and earning a home playoff game against Somerset.

Lynn Camp Wildcats (1A, 6-2)- Lynn Camp took down Harlan Independent and now control their own destiny. The Wildcats draw Williamsburg and can win the District title with an upset.

Jackson County Generals (3A, 2-6)- Most people expected Jackson County to be on the outside looking in for the playoffs, but the Generals had ideas of their own. Jackson County knocked off McCreary Central and took the 4th spot in the District.

Whitley County Colonels (5A, 5-3)- When Whitley County lost to North Laurel the Colonels were in danger of finishing 4th in their District. Two weeks later following wins over undefeated Perry Central and Harlan County the Colonels have essentially locked up a home playoff game.

Powell County Pirates (3A, 4-4)- Powell County utilized another huge performance from Nathan Skidmore to take down Breathitt County in a huge District game. The mission is now simple, beat Morgan County and win the District Title.

Player of the Week:

RB Patric Edwards, Southwestern

Edwards has been one of EKY most consistent players over his 4-year career and Friday's win over Lincoln County was one of his best individual performances. Edwards ran the ball 18 times for 222 yards and 4 TD's. He also added a pair of receptions for 40 yards and another score.

Game of the Week:

#5 Southwestern at #13 Pulaski County- Every time these two rivals meet it is seemingly with the greatest of stakes on the line. The winner locks up the #1 seed in the District and both teams are in need of a statement win entering the playoffs.
