In a close one, Lincoln gets up by 14 but holds on to a 6 point margin 20-14. Hope I'm wrong for the "Choppers" but the level of play Lincoln County started out with will pay dividends, especially after beating Mercer. High Confidence.

I'm a little tired of all of the "unfair" and "advantage" stuff floating around about Mercer from last year. It was a hard fought, earned title period. Taking anything away from those kids that worked hard and won doesn't do their effort justice. It would be very difficult for two separate teams to come together and gel into one solid team. Mercer did that and played some pretty good competition in the end to win it all. Enough already!!! That said... Go Maroons!!!!:ylsuper:

Capt. Jack I think they are ignoring us and are still licking their wounds. I don't believe these two teams have met either ever or in a long, long time. There is no history with them but we know that Taylor plays hard and will put out the effort. However, I hope I'm right in saying that Somerset does have alot of talent and they should be bringing it together this week. Go and win all of the local teams...Maroons, Warriors and Jumpers!!!!

Wow, I just looked at the Warriors schedule and if they don't win Friday they might be winless until GrC on the last regular season game.:eek: :eek: I don't see them beating too many of their opponents and that includes my Maroons. I hope they do well but what a schedule!!

I don't think Cole is the only weapon they have. I believe if they get the ball to the others more balanced, they'll be more successful. IMO Cole will get his touches but EVERYBODY will be looking at him every week. Get others into the act and the offense will be even better.

Is this a district game? If so, I think that Somerset will pull it out this weekend. I hope so because I'd like to see all of the area teams excel as much as possible. What happened last week at Metcalfe? I thought the SHS boys would be loaded for bear after the week before.

I didn't know it was at the Reservation and I picked SL in a close one because crazy things happen east of I-75. I'll retract that now and pick SW by 7. The Warriors will be fine mid way through the season but right now they are finding their way through these games. Good luck Warriors!!

Lookout Warriors, the Maroons will be ready this year. I thought that SW played average to what I've seen but I think the speed of Danville was the difference. Like I said in my prediction that Danville rarely goes 0-2 and Harp would pull out the special plays and he did Friday night. Good effort by the Warriors and good luck on every game except 1. :banana:

To even suggest that the local paper is managed well is the funniest thing I've read on this website. They don't edit anything, cover much of anything, conjugate verbs "we was", and show bias toward wherever the best bucks are generated. This thread and the Hines threads were opened because of the article. I stand by my statement that they are stirring things up because the want to get people worked up and buy more papers. Personally, I thought the response was "appropriate". The big deal here is that Steve Cornelius and Jack McNeely of the Commonwealth Journal are trying to stir up things to create hostility within the rivalry and sell newspapers. Let's let this go and get back to each team having a successful season. Maybe the CJ could actually work at getting quality stories about local players, teams, etc. and cover more events. They could also improve their paper by writing and editing better as well. Here's another suggestion...take more pictures of players, fans, etc. That's what a local paper is for and more people will be interested in buying it.

I didn't mean to get under the SW Warriors skins again. White is a fine player and probably a better overall football player than the Somerset Kid but as AJ said, I was responding to the Best Ever comment. That's a very bold statement considering the accomplihments of last year and his D-1 commitment. Getting back to the game, I hope like crazy that SW wins by 50 but I don't see it. After watching Rock vs. SW I believe that the Ads will pull it out, that's all. If you don't like the answers to the questions don't ask for the opinions. This is a forum and all it is IS entertainment. Lighten up a little. What are you going to do when the Maroons beat you? I love to watch the local kids do well and I hope they do beat Danville...Go Warriors!!
