  1. And why won't he be playing against the best?
  2. The last score I saw was 37 to 24 Oak Hill at the half.
  3. Congrats to an old Knox County boy who will be living a dream, hopefully he can help Wright State get to the big dance one day.
  4. Welcome Back 3Wishes!! Jimmy is a preferred walk on at UK, and could see time playing special teams, and I wouldn't rule out some time at receiver down the road. I don't know for sure who offered Jimmy, but I know EKU and U of L were really interested in Chaffin. Once UK entered the picture, he made up his mind that he wanted to be a Wildcat. Jimmy is a great kid with a good head on his shoulders, and he will work very hard at UK.
  5. Sounds like LC played pretty well, and should be some confidence going into the next game against Rose Hill I believe.
  6. I agree Central will be back, and coach Elam is the right coach for Central. It won't be long until KC is the team to beat every year in the 51st. Great article as usual Les. :thumb:
  7. Is it going to happen this year? because the week that game is usually played is the week Lynn Camp and Middlesboro play.
  8. Good bounce back win for LC.
  9. Good win for Jackson over a Corbin team that has been playing well as of late.
  10. Actually all through the 90's it was a tough district with Danville. Danville was most dominent team in the 90s in 2A. Anderson County was also in that district, and they had some good teams, and good qb Joe Smith during that time. Boyle County didn't have years like lately, but they were still tough. I remember Corbin matching up twice with Boyle in 92 Corbin beat them 10 to 7 on a last second field goal, and in 94 Corbin was beaten a couple of tds at Boyle. LexCath started out in 1A, and were a top ten team, by the time the left for 2A. Middlesboro was out of Corbin's district after the 95 season, and Madison Southern after the 96 season. I still believe that Middlesboro and Corbin need to be in the same district again one day. As 4CHS brought up a new district could be coming for Corbin, but if Danville moves up and Somerset is possible as well, they will stay where they are.
  11. Actually the other district out of that region was better at that time with Danville, Boyle Co, Lex Cath, Bourbon Co. Very tough region one of the toughest in the state at that time.
  12. And the second one was by 30 with the starters playing a little into the second quarter. Even with the starters out it will be worse that it was with Whitley, because is a better team, but it won't be too much worse. If the championship game is played the next night, I would be very surprised if South's starters play more then a quarter.
  13. Pineville 62 Clay County 59
  14. I can't see this happening, I don't think Coach Wright is that type of coach. I see South winning by 30 to 40 points, mainly because they will pull the starters after the first quarter, kinda like what they did to Whitley.
  15. The Coaching staff at LC is the best right now that I have seen in the last ten years of following LC Basketball, imo the problem is not the staff. What the team needs is leadership on the court.
  16. Embarrassing loss for LC after beating Red Bird easy in earlier in the year. I don't know what is wrong with this team, but they have too much talent to lose games like this. To sound like a broken record but until the players understand basketball is a team game they will never reach their potential.
  17. Lynn Camp is right now about even with Harlan, Cumberland, and Jackson. Jackson earned 9th with the big over LC. and a win over Harlan, but I think Cumberland beat them, but Jackson after their performance in the All A is playing better since than. Cumberland has lost some close games, if they beat Corbin imo they move ahead of LC. Harlan and LC meet up later in the month. Imo Lc has the talent to matchup with anyone from the 13th region, except for South Laurel, it is just a matter if they can get on the same page. If they do the little things it takes to win basketball games, they will move up. LC is a border line number 10 right now so I can see the argument from both ends.
  18. Is he their yet? Check your PM Camp.
  19. Right now I don't think Lynn Camp deserves to be in the top 10, they are not playing well, but hopefully the 4th quarter rally at Wayne will get them going.
  20. Does anyone know how much tickets cost for the All A?
  21. Jackson County I would think would be 2A, but it could be close, they played in the All A this past year, as did Middlesboro for that matter. Class A District 7 will also be losing Evarts and Cumberland, so it will be interesting what the new district will look like.
  22. Congrats to the Tigers on winning the 13th region All A.
  23. B-ville 78 Middlesboro 54 Pineville 65 Jackson Co 53 I hope Pineville wins the All A this year.
