It didn't hit her glove. She lost the ball when the runner impaired her vision. It went by her before she saw it again. She's my daughter, I wasn't able to attend tonight's game so I asked her after reading these posts. I hate that I missed such a good game. Congrats to both teams on having very good seasons!

To be the best, you've got to beat the best!

Congrats Lady Rebels! Haley Delany added a double and Sydney Foster hit an inside the park homer. The District final against Conner is slated for Friday at 5:30.

The trainer for Boone says the three injured players are good to go. Cooper hasn't scored in either game against the Lady Rebels this year. Looker for Boone to advance and play Conner tomorrow.

My son (who doesn't play B Ball) saw him at open gym last week.

There was a 2 hour rain delay getting the games going and Boone's girls had been there for 4 hours before the first pitch. They were sluggish and didn't appear as if they were interested in playing. Boone's short stop (Sydney Foster) got hurt in the Lafayette game (cleated on a stolen base attempt and it required stitches) but it appears she'll be ready for the Districts.

Dallas Knotts pitched a very good game, Haley Delaney had a 2 run double, and Sydney Fostet was 2-3 while playing a stellar short stop as Boone locked up the #1 seed for the District Tourney.

They're going to try and play Thursday night at Boone, weather permitting. If they can't play, they'll reschedule for Friday.

Hopefully they do and Boone beats Conner for a second time, if so; Boone wins the District with just the one loss.

Props to Coach Coffey! A classy move!

The Lady Rebels were spraying the ball all over the field and built a 7-0 lead with Dallas Knotts and Caitlyn Palmer both hitting home runs out of the park. Highlands wasn't able to generate much offense with Knotts on the mound. The game was suspended due to the storms that blew through and will be picked up where they left off at a date yet to be determined.

The Camels do return a talented group and could very well be the best in NKY this year, but I wouldn't be so confident with the "best coaching" comment. Boone just hired a guy who's been the DC on back to back 5A state championship teams and this guy can coach! Boone's in it to win it!

The Lady Rebels played well. The district 10 umpires were very consistent, consistently bad that is! Both ways! I've never seen so many calls reversed. It became comical! They were overturning calls without appeals! I felt bad for the players who were giving their best efforts only to have plays botched by the umps, very sad. That said, Boone controlled the game from the onset and came out with a good win.

Moran was very impressive! In her last at bat she faced Knotts and pulled a fastball foul that most hitters would've been late on. By far, the best hitter Boone's faced thus far!

Boone beat Campbell Cty 6-5, lost to Christian Academy 3-2, beat St. Henry 7-4, and lost to Notre Dame 7-2

She's very talented but has been nursing a sore shoulder and all this cold weather isn't helping either!

That makes sense then as to why the poll seems slighted.

With the constant improvement of bats, the ball comes off so much harder now. Yet, there are girls whose skill sets, athleticism, and experience have allowed them to adapt so its difficult to mandate that they be treated like lessor talented players. In the end, the parents should determine what is best for their daughter. I've found that the rationale of finding a prom date is more difficult if you have a broken nose or missing teeth works pretty well.

Boone scrimmaged NCC on Wed. and NCC is much improved and will surprise some teams this year. It was very cold and the field was sloppy, still I was very impressed with their progress.

Besides adding a more balanced attack on offense, Boone needs to do better at defending the pass. Last year they really struggled in covering short to midrange passes. They must do much better on special teams as well. It seemed like the kicking game last year gave up huge return yardage. Very few times do I remember opponents starting with bad field position, most of the time they began around the fifty yard line.

My daughter plays softball and basketball for Boone. Last year I asked Coach Fookes if my daughter should play AAU to help her game and she said no. She actually encouraged my daughter to play softball and that there would be plenty of time for basketball. Most of Boone's girls play muliple sports and the coaches for the most part work well together.
