I think the key word is fairly. As I have stated before, I think everyone is just looking for consistency in the current game they are playing.

I am a little confused. If you are taught that the blocks are illegal and the rules say that they are legal. How can their be consistancy when coaches are coaching their players to make these blocks and some officials throw the flag and others do not? This is what frustrates fans, players and coaches alike!

LMB, it could be 3 TD's 2-2pt conversions and a PAT =25. Pretty sure that won't happen either but the odds have to be better than 1000 to 1. Maybe 500 to 1.

I think they dressed 22 against MC and one of the Leslie Co faithful said they had big numbers in the 7th and 8th grade so the future is bright. Like I said earlier Leslie had some very talented players they just weren't very deep. Good Luck to them for the rest of the season!

How did they score their TD? Just asking because it would seem difficult to score if you only had 11 yards of total offense unless it was special teams or the defense that scored, so I am curious!

I have a question. Is it illeagle to chop block if the QB is in the gun? This penalty was called twice on MC in their 1st game against Clinton Co. so they stopped (yea, yea so it took 2 times to get them to stop). However, against Leslie Co MC got chop blocked several times and the ref's said it was leagle. I would really like to know which crew of refs were right and which ones were wrong?:confused:

MC scored 5 TD's (2 more were called back) Watts threw for one of the TD's and that was it. I am not sure how many yards rushing but it was only around 100. Leslie Co. did what everyone on here said you had to do in order to beat MC, they shut down Watts. But, as I said MC has a lot of good athletes around Watts so shuting him down won't stop the Raiders, you have to shut down the entire team. Leslie has a very good team just not the numbers to support their starters. Their defense is very good it was actually a little better than W-burg's. They had more yards in the first half than MC but MC's defense played bend don't break. In the 2nd half MC pretty much shut Leslie Co. down. Leslie will give some people fits this year and I really enjoyed the trip, the fans and staff at Leslie were great hosts. I wish them luck the rest of the season.

This was the final. MC played a very solid game. Best defense they have played in 2 years. It semed like the team came together tonight and hopefully will stay that way from now on. MC put in their younger kids around the 6 min mark and played between 35 and 40 kids. Everyone should be excited in McCrear Co tonight. Go Raiders!

I said I had seen both teams play and picked the game 52-8 I would say that was pretty close!

This is great, many prayers from the McCreary Co community for this young man. All things are possible through God who strengthens me!

It would be totally rediculous to do to play 11 man footbal with 8 men but it would be leagal. That why I said I was throwing it out there just for the laughs!

I agree, MC will have to keep improving, including the schedule getting tougher, post Watts era to start gaining respect in the high school football world. All I am asking for is to tell the facts the way they are not the way someone wants them to be and to say Clinton co gave MC all they wanted was not very factual.

Only time will tell if MC can keep growing post Watts era!

Did you here that from someone who was actually at the game or someone who heard it from someone who heard it from someone? I was just wondering. I was at the game and Clinton Co scored 1 TD against MC's 1st "D". MC fumbled in the endzone to give them their 2nd score and the 3rd and 4th score came in the 4th quarter against MC's 3rd string which was put in the game at the 8 min. mark. How many schools have played their 3rd string and played 40+ kids against a team that gave them all they wanted. MC got a good win and gave over 40 kids playing time on a Friday night..........now that is how you build a program.

Everyone wants to talk about Watts and that's great he is an outstanding athlete and a nice young man who deserves the attention. He is MC's X factor and has rushed for around 350 yards in the first two games. However, MC has already had a sophmore who was up for the ironman award for his performance in the first game and the same young man had a 90+yard TD reception against W-burg. Another one of MC's receivers has had atleast 1 TD reception in each of the two games and a couple more receivers have caught TD reception. Also, the back-up QB has thrown a TD. The tailback for MC has rushed for well over 100 yards per game and with the total offense being 800 yards plus for the first 2 games you would have to say the "O" line is better than average and getting better each week. So as good as Watts is he is still not a one man show by no means! Oh yea, I almost forgot I am a huge Raider fan in the good times and the bad but I try to be realistic about things as well, I mean you have never heard me say that the Raiders will go 10-0 and win 3 games in the playoffs or anything like that so, even though I would love to see the Raiders win every football game they play I know with the Bell Co's, Rockcastle's, Knox Co's and Madison Southern's that we have to play that would be unrealistic. It will be a very very tough task to win any of those types of games but they are working hard and are starting to compete with some of these teams and as a fan and a father that is all one can ask for! I think it works mostly the other way. Schools who struggle academically and decide to flood their athletic programs with the funds they need and better facilities will create better athletic programs. In return they start building school pride and that leads to even better athletic program which gets more student involved and student athletes have to keep their grades up so they focus more in class and so on and so!

I just wanted to say: how's it going JOHNNY? Tell everyone I said howdy and can't wait to see them again and remember, it's getting closer to deer season everyday. Oh, and to make sure this post goes along with the thread: I don't think there is anything wrong with JC I kinda like the folks there and my daughter says she likes them too!:thumb:

Are you saying that the coaching staff is weak as far as ability or that there isn't many of them. I know they only have 5 coaches and that is a shame, but their head coach started the program at McCreary and has coach for 20+ years and acually came from Leslie Co. They have one assistant who has coached for 20+ years who started coaching in Ohio, they also have a coach who played at McCreary and then played 4 years at Cumberland and they have a coach who has coached for many years that came from Tn where he coached at Anderson Co and Onieda I know. So, I think that is a great start to a coaching staff and I am sure they would like to have the administration step up and hire 2 or 3 more coaches. As far as your statement about talent alone being the only reason for MC wins I guess the coaches can just spend time at the concession stand the entire season and just let the boys play! According to your theory they win games that way. I guess when I read posts like this the only thing I can do is: :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Why would anyone be offended because you asked how old a program is. I went to a school that didn't have a winning season for over 40 years and then there were a few changes made throughout the school system including the football program. Right after that we had a 5-5 season. The next year we went 9-1 and since then my old high school has had several undefeated regular seasons and thier football program is solid still yet today. Guess what? It all started with a group of kids who started playing youth football together and won at every level and the changes that were made were made at the right time. I guess the stars alligned so to speak. I can see similarities with today's MC program having this group of Jr's and Soph. who have played a long time together and has been successfull at every level, with more groups coming up behind them that have been very, very competitive at every level. It is not embarrasing to have had a disapointing past but is would be embarrasing not to work toward a successfull future and that is what they are doing at MC one step at a time. They don't think they will jump from thier 20 year+ past staight into Papa John's Stadium, they are happy with small milestones like making the playoffs for the first time ever last year and working toward a winning season this year. None of this is easy and it definately isn't going to be handed to them on a silver platter. they have to beat 1 of 4 very good football teams that have a lot of tradition just to make the playoffs...............no gaurantees there. So no I am not offended, actually your question makes me proud of what the Raiders have accomplished in the last couple of years.
