I hope I've shed a little light on your questions as well. :thumb:

Prestonsburg Example Player?
Your query is very much related, Game, even if you think it's not. A very talented 3-sport athlete was discouraged from being a part of last year's team due to his desire to get away(for the first time in 4 years) during spring break after spending most of any free time he had in the preceeding year first with football, and then with basketball. And this need was obvious in any discussions prior to that week. So I then totally lost interest in the program after discovering that Stephens was the one singled out, apparently to set some sort of example for the rest of the team last year, and relegated to irregular and out of position play(and no play at all) from which he took the hint. But I can tell you that he was, if not the most serious, one who took the field with fire in his eyes in each and every game. And he had played alongside fellow 3-sport athletes in the preceeding years who shared the same love and enthusiasm for the game, but it seems that fewer multi-sport athletes each year over the last 5 or 6 years have been playing, and it has started to become ladened with more single sport athletes, especially after the departure of the senior class prior to last year who, while very athletic and talented, suffered from the customary(over the last 5 or 6 years, or more even?) late beginning and extremely brief schedule not conducive to competitive baseball. So, while I know Stephens' brother, another 3-sport(and serious) athlete, is playing this year(and just took this week off for spring break!), I cannot tell you who is playing or even what to expect from this year's team! Like I said, I totally lost interest last year! And I have heard, fairly recently, that the Stonecrest field won't be ready for this year, but that it's not very far away from being ready. So we can still hope for games to be played on the hill, even if sometime late in the season. :thumb: It's quite possible that I'll even take in a game, just to find out for myself the answers you seek.

Prestonsburg Example Player?
I just wondered which Blackcat was chosen to set the example for the rest of the team this year since this week was spring break, and a good opportunity would have presented itself for a player to get squeezed out of the team after choosing not to give up his break, not unlike last year. Or did every player give up their spring break this year for baseball, and foil that plan? :irked: Anyone familiar with the program have knowledge of this? :sssh:

I'm hoping we can break up that scenario, 78!

Have you lost all contact there, Sportster? You continue to ask questions but your questions make it sound as though you don't know anyone around there anymore(maybe you've just been away too long). Maybe you should contact an old acquaintance there and let them answer your questions. After the first couple of questions go unanswered, it's obvious another approach would be more constructive and, better yet, may just get some of your questions answered. :thumb:

Yeah, even with a down year, it's always, I think, the game we look forward to every year. :thumb: The results, unlike you however, are something I'm hoping to see change from the past 3 years! :sssh: :ylsuper:

 Yeah, if you're talking to someone who says they're from Ironton, you know they are if they pronounce it "Arnton"! If not, it's an imposter.... :thumb:

No, I must admit that Bobby Knight made that popular among some circles! :thumb: And he was never a favorite of mine.

I know he's a competitive individual, but I don't imagine there was anything deemed illegal that took place during the game you mention. :walk:

P-burg lost 2 players to graduation from last year's team. And while we don't have the feeder programs enjoyed by Pikeville and Paintsville, these kids should be much improved this year and I believe they'll be a bit more competitive than last year. :thumb:

I'm glad he was successful at his position last year, Pal, and hope he was satisfied with the decision to make the move. It would have been terrible had he moved and not derived any benefit from it. I wish him all the best except, of course, when we meet on the gridiron in the fall. :thumb: And I'm sure you'll be happy having added Ashland to your schedule, which should result in plenty of competitive action that will benefit your Pirates.

8 yrs. is a long time for him not to have seen any action on the defensive side of the ball, burnt! That would have meant grade school, middle school, and then high school. Maybe late in primary, at times, a single position ends up being chosen, but through all the different coaches he's played under I'm sure he would have played defense at some point, even if early on! :thumb:

Ahhh... I'd be surprised if that is the one, Buck! :sssh: His ties are deeply-rooted in P-burg. :thumb: And I'm sure his family(not to mention his own feelings) will want him to return home as a Blackcat at some point in his life. But I've been wrong before.... once!

The supt. is from Alabama, the finance director is from Magoffin Co., and the board attorney is from Johnson Co.! :irked: What reason would they have to change anything? :creepy:
