  1. I also ditto the good luck to my alma mater, Pikeville, and to the Tomcats, both of whom we've enjoyed some very heated battles with! :thumb: And does anyone remember the visit from a group of Pirates during a Pikeville lunchtime in the late '60's? That was quite an event as well, although quite some time ago, and also not related to this thread. Just curious.... Another time, another thread, maybe. :thumb:
  2. No, I didn't mention "homefield". I simply stated "some teams just seem to get the calls at the most opportune times". They aren't necessarily limited to their home fields. :thumb: Just pure luck, I guess.
  3. And some teams just seem to get the calls at the most opportune times. And they're not always at Putnam! :sssh:
  4. And your winner is............... ?
  5. And there are always a few who find fault in everyone but their own child.
  6. Yes, I'm not sure where the Allen Central and Phelps games are played this year, but if the Bobcats can win those games they should make the playoffs this year.
  7. Stop pecking at the Bobcats, Pap. I'm sure they had their reasons for getting this game scheduled. Maybe they wanted to get a gauge on their progress, generate support to encourage more participation, or for reasons you're admittedly, albeit unknowingly, unaware. While attempting to bash the Blackcats, you're also continuing to beat down the Bobcats. A little constructive criticism might merit this worthy but, since none is offered, why not confine your negative remarks to your own hat, if you dare? :irked:
  8. Bill Elliott turned over his driving duties in the #21 to Said yesterday: http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/headlines/cup/08/11/belliott.bsaid.21.car.watkins.glen/index.html
  9. Looks like you've been researching some, Kitty! :thumb:
  10. From SceneDaily: "The future licensing rights to Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be negotiated by Earnhardt Jr.'s own company, JR Motorsports, not Hendrick Motorsports, for whom he'll drive next season. ...Earnhardt Jr. will be the only driver who controls licensing rights for his car and sponsor, in addition to himself. ...JRM will still have a business agreement with Hendrick to share in the revenue - neither team would divulge the breakdown - but JR Motorsports will select the licensee and approve the products as well as the distribution. ...All of Junior's licensing deals at DEI expire at the end of this season, which gives JRM a clean slate to work with beginning next year. Negotiations with licensees have already begun."
  11. With the others getting 18-20 million per year, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that Jr.'s sponsor will up the ante to 30 million. They are well aware of the rewards it will reap. :thumb:
  12. I thought your source(:sssh: ) only had Jr. being sponsored by Mountain Dew, and National Guard as some sort of a possiblity? Are you now inferring that "AMP" & "KELLOGGS" are also going to sponsor him now? All of them, or a combination of the three, or.......? :walk:
  13. So will you now only believe the last "people" you talked to ..."they know", while not seeking out the "people" who told you that Moutain Dew would not be on the car? Or will it be the most recent "people I talk to ... they know. And that's enough for me"? Of course, you're bound to get it right with either one, sooner or later! :thumb:
  14. Back-tracking just a bit and, oddly enough, agreeing with my prior post are we?
  15. And, since Coke is the #1 selling soft drink, I look for them to continue increasing their share of the sports drink market by acquiring exclusive marketing with Nascar when the current arrangements expire and, since they've been so successful with their sponsorship of the NHRA, positioning their product's visibility and appeal with, arguably, the 2 most popular motorsports venues, in an attempt to become the #1 selling sports drink as well. I believe it's only a matter of time before they succeed, given the increase in popularity they've enjoyed over the past few years.
  16. Obviously, and just to clear up any confusion, only the drinks announced in the release(and previously posted) are included in the agreement, and none of the 3 would be considered sports drinks by any athlete or anyone who is familiar with such drinks.
  17. I just read the press release that ISC released on July 9, 2007, and it says, in part, that they signed an exclusive ten-year agreement with Coca-Cola North America. Specific financial terms were not released. Under the terms of the agreement, CCNA brands will become the “Official Soft Drink,” “Official Sparkling Beverage” and “Official Water” beginning in January of 2008! :thumb: Daytona, Chicago, Homestead, Kansas, Michigan, & Richmond are the tracks with exclusivity beginning in January.
