  1. I know I said I wouldn't, but this was too good to pass up! That's a good one, Pat Dad. He had his spotter make a deal with another spotter to put out some debris(or it could have crew chief's within the same organization that got together to do it !). :thumb:
  2. We really don't have that many close to their keyboards, newcathfan! But I think we should. He's Rodney Dangerfield personified. No Respect! Now I'll take a step back from my keyboard and let others chime in.
  3. I'm glad someone joined in. At least we've got a couple of posts in support of the one since, without him, we'd have to entertain ourselves with some lower form of fun, and probably would be of the pick out of the hat deal. This is the real deal, and more should show Scribe some support! And as if he didn't have enough to deal with, now his computer has crashed. I don't know anyone else who would do what he's done for what little support he's receiving. He deserves an extra 50 pts., at least, for what he's done and what he's having to go through now! That's what I think, but I bet he wouldn't take it if a unanimous vote afforded it to him. This is a special place with special people, and those who don't realize it are just, well, nuts! :thumb:
  4. I was hoping for a little more humor.... :irked: ingrates!
  5. 20 24 11 48 8 29 17 2 5 99 I'll add a couple of Blue Oval's, but only in the bottom 10. That new bowtie engine is pumping out some power! :irked:
  6. BAH, Excuses..... :thumb: We've got your back, Scribe!
  7. The very least we can do is give you time to get your system back up and running again. I'm surprised it hasn't happened before now since I'm sure you do much more with your laptop than this, and that has to be tough for you. I say take as long as you need to score last week(this week, etc.!), and I would concentrate on getting my machine back in shape even if it means that we'll just have to hope we know where we stand. You're the best and I, for one, think we should give you as much time as it takes for you to get your spreadsheet to do the work. Anything less(manually will only create more work for you to enter all that information once again into your spreadsheet) will only cause you to take more time to get it going again. So, my opinion is to ignore all those who hound you(they can take a chill pill, in my eyes, and try to have just a little sympathy for how much fun your efforts allow us to have) for results and put all your thoughts into getting back up to speed. You deserve at least that much from all of us who depend on, and benefit from, your efforts to keep this thing going. I've been there, and it ain't much fun. I'd even be for pitching in with a little help to offset any expense you're out in getting it back up again. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else would be willing to chip in, even if not needed! Good luck, Scribe! I only wish I could help, but I've got a couple who I am thankful to know when something like what's happened to you has taken mine out before. It's not a happy time! I know that first hand.
  8. This looks like the only opportunity I'll have to post my picks since I'll be there in a couple hours and have been southern GA for the past 2 days and just accessed a temporary internet connection, so here goes my best guess: 8 48 20 24 17 29 5 99 31 11
  9. I've got to go to Fort Valley, GA, in the morning(and it may be just a bit foggy), so I want to get my picks in. I may get a chance to change before or after I get back to Bristol but, if not, I'll just use this one: 17 29 20 99 8 31 2 48 5 24
  10. As much as I like him, I think Michael Waltrip is the one who gets too much attention!
  11. He left everybody that was watching Nascar at that time when he was still behind the wheel a lot to remember! :thumb:
  12. I agree, NEERFAN. :thumb: I believe Sr. was wanting Jr. to prove he was both worthy and mindful his dad yearned for Jr.'s love and respect of his accomplishments both as a driver and role model, and had paid his dues before he would have increasingly bestowed more and more ownership of DEI while he was still around, and hoped Jr. would step up and assume the responsibilities, which he has, to make sure his legacy was best preserved by continuing to groom Jr. to run the racing side so he could concentrate more on the business side, while also enjoying its continued success both on and off the track. But if Sr. had known his fate, I believe he would have wanted, obviously, Theresa to retain a large part of DEI as long as she lived since he always considered her a major part of his success, but would have made sure that Jr., even though still having a lot to learn, would now have to be the one to lead DEI to greater heights, while hoping Jr. would continue to appreciate Theresa's business prowess as a contributing factor to his dad's popularity. He was a driver, but also a good businessman who could always count on his wife to assume her role alongside him while confident she could handle the routine burdens which afforded him more time to drive, of course, but also helping him build the business he hoped would thrive in the future due, in no small part, to Jr.'s success on the track! So, yes, I believe Dale Earnhardt would have wanted his son to take control, and Theresa to be there to offer much the same support Jr. needs in order to concentrate on continuing to build the most successful team in Nascar today. It's hard for that situation to work in most split-family run businesses but, given the time, Dale Sr. would have made sure everyone was working toward the same goal and, knowing him, it would have been the elite team of today! So, while Jr.'s not his dad, he can put together a group that will rival the best, with Theresa playing a much-needed supporting role. Only time will tell! :thumb:
  13. It's time to go racin' again, Scribe! :thumb: I just hope luck is on my side again again this year. :sssh:
  14. I was there then, and when Schrader got over to him and then started waving his hands for help, I knew it wasn't good!
  15. Yes it would, indeed! :thumb:
  16. Yeah, maybe you can find out what the rules are now. I believe they're still only allowed to pass on the outside on restarts, at any track. :walk:
  17. Nascar, as they do on a regular basis, amends their amendments and, in this case, I believe the most current amendment is that the penalty for such an infraction is enforced by relegating that driver to the tail-end of the longest line. Of course, a new amendment may be in place by the time we see the first green flag of the year at Daytona. Only time will tell, and that time is almost here.... I won't be there this year, but I feel sure I'll get a whiff of that distinguishable smell with the first breeze from the south soon after 8PM on Saturday!
