He is protected to the base he was entitled, 3rd, and if he advances past the base he was entitled then he is fair game. I would guess the 3rd base base coach didn't know the obstuction rule if he got him thrown out by a country mile.

It is called team control fouls and the signal should be a closed fist coming from the chest outward much like some officials call a charge (one of the types of a player control foul).

In the 8th region all distict games are 3 officials (boys and girls) then it is up to the host school about the number of officials. 3 man games have different floor coverages so if you aren't doing it all the time you have to think more.

If you pick up your pivot foot and do not perform some type of basketball move (pass or shot) you have changed your pivot foot (doesn't matter when it touches again). You must have your pivot foot in contact with floor unless it is a pass or shot. Just standing like a stork is not a basketball move therefore a travel. 99.9% of the officials will call a travel on that effort.

Wilbur Lowe @ Carroll County does the girls games. His daughters came through the program so everthing isfrom the heart!
