Either way, good win for Coach Duvall and the Rebels. Sets up a big game with the Wildcats now. Isn't this the way it's supposed to turn out...two best teams of the district battling in out in (what should be) a packed house (for both sides) with the championship on the line. Should be worth the price of admission!!

Carroll played a box and one on Gamble till the last few minutes of the 4th quarter, face guarding him and double-teaming when he got the ball. He stiil had 17, plus about 6 steals. Shelton had to sit about half the game due to foul trouble. The only offense Carroll could manage came from Hendrick inside. Owen missed a boatload of foul shots.

Owen County led after the first by 6 points, 9-3. The second quarter saw Chris Hendrick for Carroll County come alive with 7 points. He had 9 of the Panthers 13 first half points. On the Owen County side, Drew Marston opened up the scoring for the Rebels by dropping 7 of his own as the 6 point lead had grown to 9 at the half, 22-13. Carroll County came out of the break by dropping 14 points in the third quarter. 1 more point than in the whole first half. The Panthers were paced in the quarter by Casey Cable's 6 points and 5 more from Chris Hendrick. Owen County had more points from free throws than field goals in the 3rd, scoring 7 from the charity stripe and three field goals. The Rebels took a 10 point lead into the final 8 minutes, 37-27. At the six minute mark in the 4th quarter, Carroll County had cut the lead to 6 and had possession of the ball, but missed a gimme under the basket. Owen County went on a 5 point run in 30 seconds to push the lead to 11. Collin Gamble was a big part of the second half for the Rebels, dropping 15 of his 17 points in the final 2 quarters. The Owen County Rebels took a 10 point victory, 51-41. Carroll County goes to 7-19 for the season. Owen County will face Gallatin County for the 31st District title on Saturday night in Owenton. What a great year he has had, should have an even better year as a senior! Great kid also! Best of luck to Carroll Co. next year. Looks like you got a good group of kids coming back. It appeared inside was the only game plan Miller had last night.

It is hard for kids to have confidence if they are punished every trip up the floor. Good Win Owen. I hope good things happen for the Panthers.
