NO. Section 10-3 in the Rules Book specifically states what player actions results in a technical foul. There are no warnings for these actions.

Players nor coaches receive warnings if the action is severe enough to get a technical or even be ejected.

If it is something that deserves a technical then the player will not receive a technical foul. Sometimes coaches will get warnings about jumping up and yelling but if it is something major then they will just get a "T". Some refs are more "sensitive" than others. lol

Thanks for the input. Someone told me the player has to be warned first, I didn't know if that was an actual rule or not. The foul btw, was a shove after the whistle (but not the type of shove you would think would get a T.) I guess that goes back to some officials being more "sensitive" than others.

If an official is giving a warning to a coach about something this is most like a courtesy at that time (reminder that they need to stay in the box or not referee) or some measure of preventive officiating.

Agree, this is the only warning that they are supposed to get. Some refs will warn the coaches as a courtesy.

I thought that if a player throws a punch then they can be automatically ejected, is this not the case? I am not sure of any other instance when a player would be automatically ejected and not just a technical.

Your probably right. I never thought about that.

Flagrant fouls are ejections with only one technical.

I don't think so. I think they can give them warnings if they are trash talking and things to that manner, but if it is a hard foul, or something that could harm the other players, I am pretty sure that they don't have to issue a warning first.
