  1. The good:: Shawn White's last Olympic ride. 40 year old Nick Baumgartner earning a gold medal. The bad: 100% artificial "snow". Seems more like ice sheets. No fans or family. Empty venues. The ugly: The ski jump with with cooling towers and waste pond next door.
  2. Wife has always been a fan. I tuned in this season just for the Youtubers The Holderness Family couple - Kim and Penn. They are the "old couple" in this race. Both were in TV news at local and national levels and gave it up to be social media creators. The race had to stop in 2020 and restarted this year. Anyone else following?
  3. Was the beginning the end this season? The Greek tragedy does seem to be closing in.
  4. After they won I said 49ers or Rams - it does not matter which wins. Bengals should be favored. And I am not dyed in the stripes Bengals fan. But, what the heck - Who dey!
  5. Some analyst who streamed a hearing in Wisconsin yesterday made the following observation. The "pandemic" will end when the CDC takes CoVid-19 off the "reportable diseases" list. As long as CoVid is on this list it will remain a "pandemic". Also, they noted hospitals still get 20% "bonus" for CoVID patients. Of course the "emergency" designation would need to be withdrawn. But then all the EUA-authorized treatments would be cancelled - that includes the current "vaccines" since the fully FDA-approved products are not in the market. I had never heard of this designation of "Reportable Diseases". But it causes all medical functions to actively search for and document instances. Links related to this: https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/001929.htm https://www.cdc.gov/healthywater/statistics/surveillance/notifiable.html
  6. SCOTUS has put a stay on the OSHA "Over 100" mandate - for now. Unfortunately, health-care workers still are subjected to the mandates. Recently, Mayo clinic fired 700 workers who would accept the "vaccine". To this day there is still no FDA-approved product in the marketplace. Thus, the current mandates are still relying on people to take a treatment that is legally still experimental and issued only under an EUA.
  7. Those last 3 words go counter everything we see in the "real world" and not in a lab under controlled environment. I continue to try to figure out how "science" got this mask thing wrong for 70 years and suddenly find its errors in 2020 and 2021.
  8. Something that is little more legal than above: https://www.yahoo.com/news/early-stage-research-suggests-milk-002425317.html The report suggested that combining diphenhydramine — an antihistamine sold as Benadryl that is used for allergy symptoms — and lactoferrin — a protein found in cow and human milk — reduced replication of SARS-CoV-2 by 99% in lab tests on human lung and monkey cells. Tying to personal habits. Wife and I do drink milk daily and she uses Benadryl periodically. I rarely use it.
  9. Not sure if this was captured here. NCAA now recognizes "natural immunity" as "fully vaccinated" in the new guidelines. At least in terms of an infection within last 90 days. https://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/general-ncaa-releases-updated-covid-19-guidance-for-winter-sports A person who has had a documented COVID-19 infection in the past 90 days is considered the equivalent of "fully vaccinated."
  10. Mens multi in the morning. B-100 complex around noon (for afternoon alertness) C in the afternoon.
  11. Put some D in that regiment. But as a forum doctor you probably know that. When I and the Mrs. had it last November (2020) it was like the body did not know what to do. I had no fever, she had very mild fever early on but then none. I was down less than a week, her for almost 3 weeks. Since then though, knock on wood, nothing for either of us - COVID or otherwise. She usually has 2 or 3 spats of something per year. But nothing since then. We are hitting the immune system gummies harder and consistently. There are studies that show inverse correlation of COVID fatality and Vitamin-D level. In theory at 50 mg/mL of D your supposed to be in real good position. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34684596/
  12. There is no real history of increased lethality in previous similar situations. However, if the original was artificial, the follow-on "variants" may have artificial sources. But in nature lethality typically will decrease. BTW, son and DIL now with it. His co-worker had it and he worked from home for a couple of days following, but symptoms showed up on Sunday. Positive test. She showed symptoms overnight. Likely the same result.
  13. Scanning the roster. It looks like only Kentucky kid was Quentin Duffy from Lexington Catholic. Here was highlight of Quentin in a non-traditional position.
  14. @CincySportsFan First, my condolences on family losses. Having loved ones taken by sudden events is always hard. In terms of immediate impact we have been more fortunate. Though, just last week a distant cousin who I had never met passed due to a heart attack - at age 34. I am did not take anything as personal attack. I enjoy the discuss here because I know the people are real and the common interest that brings them to BGP. I am not proposing any specific model. Given the nebulous and conflicting background history of the virus makes any firm direction impossible - at all levels. I continue to raise extreme caution with the "vaxx". Its showing its not at all a silver bullet. I continue to have extreme concerns on long term safety of these treatments. This is still all experimental and there is still, to this day, no FDA-approved product in the pipeline what-so-ever. Its all still EUA with absolutely zero accountability for the manufacturers. Conformity, the FDA-approved (not just authorized) product, has not yet started manufacturing and is not yet available. Again, everything being administered is still currently under the EUA umbrella. As I indicated, these not like MMR vaccines. There is no debate on that. And they were rushed to distribution without normal studies and safeguards. While many have suffered losses, it just seems its time to stop assuming that any single approach is going to be useful. Those that are vaxxed are vaxxed. Though of us who are not vaxxed are not going to get vaxxed. Many of the "vaxxed" are not going to get the boosters, some are. So to conclude, raising vaxxed vs unvaxxed as if it matters at this point is just not right . It is just not a useful health debate. We can not treat each other like lepers. If one is truly protected then they should not care if others are not. What is happening in Canada, Australia and other countries with vaxx mandates and persecuting the "unvaxxed" needs to not replicate here in the US. All is good. Take care.
  15. Of the "unvaxxed" are probably largely convalescent protected. Given the spread rate, of which I had first hand experience, its all but impossible to assume everyone has not been exposed at this point. The only people I directly know that have had issues in the last year have been "vaxxed". People can still catch it, spread it and die from it. And to supposedly to have any benefit (supposedly less symptoms) you need regular "boosters". Based on these factors, the "vaxx" can not be considered of value. It is not at all a vaccine when compared to MMR vaccine. Lessening of symptoms is not a vaccine. If that is where the bar is - then aspirin is also a "vaccine" using the same definition. Real vaccines prevent illness, they prevent spread. Literally, the definitions of a vaccine have been changed over the last two years to fit the now very low bar of supposed benefit.
  16. If you have not gotten the "vax" by now - you are not going to. Most in category probably already had it. If a 70% "vax" rate is not good enough and the "vaxxed" can still catch it, die from it and spread it. Then this is a silly game at this point. Blaming the "unvaxxed" for the obvious and clear failure of the "vax" while ignoring over 12,000+ direct vax-related deaths is not helping anything at this point.
  17. Bridgestone Arena enacted similar rule before the NHL season started. It withdrew the policy not long into the NHL season. The hysteria and insane mandates, testing and policies really needs to stop. Testing is now a joke. I know multiple people who have taken or gotten multiple test over consecutive dates and the tests is different each day. PCR was never designed for testing and it was only released under EUA. It is still EUA and basically still unproven.
  18. Ridder needs to have ice in the veins for a game like this. Unfortunately, he seems more worried about not making mistakes.
  19. That had to be a "post-Hooper" (movie) series trying to capitalize on its success. Sadly, a stuntman was killed in Lexington when filming a Lee Majors film (not Hooper).
  20. I think if you did not buy into part of "the program" you probably are not buying into any of the program as sold. Hence, unlikely there is increased mask wearing. Given the rate of spread early on - many are likely nat-vaxxed. Hopefully, regardless of the source of CV-19, this latest round is reflection of what normally happens is happening. That is that viruses lose lethality and severity over time.
  21. Doubtful. They probably just take enough vitamin supplements that enhance true protection. At 50 ng/mL the theoretical death rate from COVID is zero according to studies.
  22. 59 - 38 Congratulations Hilltoppers.
  23. A lot of supportive statements. A very different tribal than the last one on season 1. There will never be another snake and rate speech.
  24. Everyone better be taking Heather to the end. But who knows with this group. Erika needed to earn a vote. And Heather should not be on the jury.
  25. Erika blows it again. Heather is not voting. She will not be in the fire challenge. Another misstep.
