  1. Yearbook pic and high school activities. Three sporter - as you would expect. No comment on the nickname.
  2. My boss, who is out west, caught it and seemed worse and it took him a couple of weeks to get through those ups and downs. I am usually down 2-3 days and back at it. So trying set expectations in my head that this will not be the case this time. BTW, he indicated the source may have been a restaurant dinner gathering. Reflecting some of the posts above. I hate raising that knowing the pressure on restaurants. But its worth noting.
  3. Day 3 since positive testing (Thursday), day 4 of start of some level of symptoms. Things seem to have peaked on Friday with dry stuffiness. Less stuffiness yesterday, slightly less today. No fever - range has been 96.8 to 97.9. O2 has been 97-100. Feel good in the morning and drift to feeling worse as day goes on (this seems typical). Sometimes feels like chills and think fever must be kicking in - but check and its in the range above. Half of others at gathering have tested positive and/or are having some symptoms though testing negative. Nothing serious. Similar to what I describe above. All are over 50. No masks, but we were outside mostly and fairly well spread out, with the men separated from the women mostly as is usual. There was common serving of food - from common serving pot and trays. Played some corn-hole that everyone played in at some point. So was it the corn-hole and everyone touching the bags? Lack of masks? Common food servings? Combination? Hard to say but just providing the raw facts.
  4. The loser of the regular season has never beaten the winner in the post season. Boyle won a close game at home in 2013. Mercer County upset Boyle County in the 2nd round I believe and LexCath beat Mercer the following week. LexCath has to come out of the gate and get some early scores AND has to get some early stops. The air-raid game is great when its clicking. But it can lead to 3-and-outs and short fields for the opponent when its not. A big difference with Boyle from 7-8 years ago is their passing game. LexCath used to be able stop the run with the 3-4 and cheating the DBs. Now that Boyle has developed a more open offense it is much harder to defend. You have to favor Boyle. But never say never.
  5. So far, no one has given any formal or specific medical advice. Actually had to call into the primary physician since I had a routine appointment on Wednesday. Called them them this morning just to do the notify thing for anyone from previous 48 hours. They just said - let us know if you get worse. So far, temp never above 98 and O2 97 or above. So hitting the Goodies "Emergen-C Immune+" daily now (was doing every other day) and taking some Sandhus Zinc quercetin from Amazon. Ad-hoc advice from someone from medical world has been take lots of Vitamin-D and Zinc for now - hence the above. Son had it a few weeks ago. He bounced back after about 4 days of hitting the Emergen-C. He had fever at night and he lost taste and smell. It feels like "allergies" - but I do not hardly ever get allergies. Discussion with wife - she DOES have allergies. So she takes Flonaise every day. We discussed if that has protected her since we are around each other 24x7.
  6. For the record - no.
  7. I join the ranks of the positive this morning. Wife is negative. We were at small (4 couples) outside gathering this weekend. One wife had symptoms a few days later. Another (different) husband did insta-test and was positive. We did UK drive through yesterday. Only symptom is allergy like snuffle. No fever or cough.
  8. I love stats. But the anecdotal says this thing is getting worse in terms of people who actually contract it and even fatalities. In the spring - hardly any had it much less died. Now know many who have had it (including son) and two deaths of a couple of degrees of separation. It still preys on those with other issues it seems while the young shrug it off - for now.
  9. So safe that they kept pregnant women out of the study. You were also banned from getting pregnant if in the study. Not sure they want to deal with impacts of DNA modification and what happens when it passes down yet. https://theconversation.com/excluding-pregnant-women-from-covid-19-vaccine-trials-puts-their-health-at-risk-147414 The mRNA's have never been certified for use before. And Moderna has never brought a product to market in 9 years of existence. So new technology from a a company that has either failed at all previous attempts or is really, really slow. But after 9 years of burning through someone's cash it would seem they may be a bit desperate to get to a big payoff.
  10. Ignoring numbers and stats. I am seeing increase spread for sure.
  11. Without know the criteria for the testing - the statistic is not comparable. If you test those that have symptoms vs. broad testing without regard symptoms - the positivity rate is not apples to apples. Layer in multiple testing of the same people and the "rate" (if using the populace as the denominator) is thrown off as well. A "case" is not a unique, named person - yet the denominator is. Hence you do not really have a valid "percentage" at all. Its fake math. All these ratio of positivity and red, yellow, green methods are flawed since the underlying context of the reason for the tests that are done varies. These are not controlled samples with like-for-like populations for comparison.
  12. Without your "proof of vaccine" concerts may be something you will miss. https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/touring/9481166/ticketmaster-vaccine-check-concerts-plan/
  13. If you have not seen the 2-point conversion at the end on Prep-spin its worth looking at. The pass had to be arced over a CovCath player (#2) and still drop in and allow the catch in bounds.
  14. Biggest win for Coach Smith so far. This is good for the Knights program in so many ways.
  15. Those are tasks done by healthy people - probably who have to do periodic cardiac-preliminary testing. And they do not were their masks or respirators for full shifts non-stop. I will gladly were the stupid mask in a store - if they let the employees take theirs off. After all a cashier that is in the same spot for 8 hours is infecting the place with or without a mask. I feel terrible when I see employees doing heavy work and trying to follow the insane and dangerous rules they are being mandated with - by non-medical officials.
  16. If vitamin-D and zinc (standard front line immune aids) were pushed as much as masks - there may not be nearly as many "cases" (an ill-defined measurement of positive tests).
  17. Question if anyone knows. How many cycles does Kentucky use or required used in the common PCR test?
  18. I guess you get a kick from watching coaches on TV! On, off, on, off, on, off.....
  19. "People" - people with high blood pressure? People with bad lungs? I guess coal miners did not where them - if they had there would be no cases of black lung. Some people - probably more than half - can tolerate a mask. That ability to tolerate by some people - is not proof that it is safe for ALL people. Mask have detrimental effects - that is not even in question. The question is is it appropriate to assume that what works and has minimum impact on a subset is acceptable and works for when applied universally?
  20. Go read the science - its been published for years....
  21. Another pull about masks. For those that through the surgeon use around: "The masks are definitely bad for you. I have friends that work somewhere where they have to wear masks from their car in the parking lot, all day long. They have started having severe sinus headaches, neck pain and migraines. Wearing a mask all day: - Lowers the O2 concentration in your body - Increased CO2 concentration in your body - Re-introduces biomaterials your body wants expelled (e.g. sneezing) for a reason, leading to a higher chance of bacterial pneumonia - Generates anxiety due to "perceived choking". It's the same reason waterboarding is an effective form of torture. - Prevents ejection of mouth bacteria, leading to halitosis and higher number of mouth infections It is certainly very bad for you. Oh, and before someone comes in about surgeons wearing masks: - Surgeons are trained in how to breath in a mask, how to put it on, etc. - Surgeons work in a highly oxygenated operating theater - Surgeons replace their face mask for every patient, i.e. they don't reuse the same nasty mask - While the work of surgeons is mentally taxing, it is NOT physically taxing. That is to say, they don't need to breathe hard, unlike someone working a physical job/walking around. -Surgeons DO NOT wear masks all day! They only wear them during the operations. Lol they don't walk around in the hallways between surgeries wearing masks."
  22. Posted elsewhere but fits here. "Up until March of 2020, face masks and respirators were considered limited use items. Surgical masks were designed to prevent cross contamination of patients and medical personnel when medical procedures involving blood or other bodily fluids were present or potentially present. They were not used on a continuous basis. Before March of 2020, OSHA, CDC, and the FDA recommended that masks not be worn by the average person and specifically said that they were not capable of preventing the spread or exposure of viruses and bacteria. Even today, masks being advertised on television and elsewhere specifically exclude virus protection by omission. In the workplace, before March of 2020, if there was a potential of an employee having to wear a mask or respirator, the employer had to provide training, the employee had to be fit-tested to ensure a proper seal, and the employee had to pass a pulmonary function test prior to equipment assignment. That same employee, if their job required potential use of a face mask or respirator, was not allowed to have a beard. Suddenly everything that was known prior to March 2020 and for the past 50 years is wrong and gone." I think masks are cute - but potentially dangerous and non-effective. They make people feel they are doing good. And give them reason to harass those that know the mask is just a game. The mis-use and re-use of masks is making them far more dangerous than helpful. Just look around. Is anyone, ANYONE following all the rules of proper mask usage (no-touch, no re-use, no putting in your pocket, etc.)? Of course not. The subject was well researched before March of 2020. What changed then?
  23. "Science" has been corrupted badly, especially recently. Find a pro-mask study before 2020. (Hint - almost none to find.). Here is an interesting study about surgical masks - the ones everyone is wearing now...and reusing and reusing and reusing. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2214031X18300809 Conclusions The source of bacterial contamination in SMs was the body surface of the surgeons rather than the OR environment. Moreover, we recommend that surgeons should change the mask after each operation, especially those beyond 2 hours. So right there it is - if you wear your mask more than two hours - its likely very contaminated with bacteria. And the source is....you. If you do read the science before 2020 there is almost universal conclusion that mis-use of masks not only reduces effectiveness but also can be a source of spreading. Or become a source of bacterial pneumonia or other issues.
  24. Three interceptions. Can not do that against Boyle County.
