"The Golden Boy" Paul Hornung has died.

84 years old. Louisville Flaget's two-time All American, Heisman winning, three time NFL champion, Super Bowl I winning, NFL MVP winning, college and pro football Hall of Fame inductee has passed away.

I will never forget back in 1994 we as in Beechwood were about to play Murray for the Class A state title game at the old Cardinal Stadium. Myself and a few of my teammates were walking around the locker room when we came up on upon 2 gentlemen. One gentlemen was riding a bike while talking  to the other gentlemen.  They both introduced themselves to us.  One of the gentlemen was Paul Hornug. The other gentlemen was Howard Schnellenberger. They both talked to us for a few minutes. They both told us good luck as they were leaving. They were cordial and polite.

Vince Lombardi referred to Hornung as "the greatest player I ever coached" and "the best all-around back to ever play football".
