Isler was clocked throwing consistantly 88 at Xavier. He was consistantly clocked last season at 87-88 and has topped out on several occasions at 90.

Isler is the only consistent free throw shooter they have. He has the highest FT percentage on the team I believe. Ives is probably the next best, and after that it's really just not good. Luke will make one or two and then bomb the rest. Wellbrock, it's just said. People laugh in the stands, and he laughs too, but it really is not all that funny.

But anyways, I understand your'e a Highlands fan, and I respect that, and I won't get too into it, because I know how it hits nerves for some, but having seen Highlands play multiple times now, I stand by my assertion that Highlands is not a top 15 team.

Agree with everything, although I feel like Highlands is pushing it. An argument can be made for Boone, but not Highlands. They are a solid 9th region team in a weak 9th region. They aren't top 15.

Still think Holmes and Scott Co. are both about even. I think Elliot Co. deserves more recognition than some like to give, but that some of their fans [along with Holmes fans] make it hard to really root for them.

People are foolish to think that this loss should drop Holmes from #1 in the state to out of the top 5 lol. They had an off night, and often I feel they play to the competition. I still do not think Boone is underrated, I think they are just a team that played very well against a bad night for Holmes. Holmes fans should make no excuses about "Stall ball" or reffing, because Holmes needed this loss and it seems that they did everything to earn it. As for the debate on Arnold's technical, given his history now, more than likely it was deserved. The kid has to get control of himself, I don't care if he is a sophmore. If he can't play with the big guys, don't let him. How many is that now for him? Hope Pittman's wrist is okay.

I would have to disagree. I doubt Maile is the number 1 CATCHER for his class. Hitting wise he would without a doubt in the running for 1 I would think. But catching, no. Possibly in the state, but nationally... Regardless of all this, and whether or not they indeed do take state [Will have to get past region first!], this is a special group of boys. How many teams have 2 D1 caliber kids, possibly three with Darner, on their team this year?

Not many schools are fortunate enough to have three hitters like Maile, Isler, and Darner. Maile and Isler were up there in RBI's, homeruns, avg. and Darner is a clutch hitter who has the ability to get the RBI's as well with a high avg.

In the games I have seen Earls play, I have not been very impressed. I think Pittman will have his way. I also do not think this game will be as close as some think it will. Boone is obviously the number 2 team in NKY. But the gap between 1 and 2 is large. Boone is not that impressive. I'll say Holmes by 15+ as long as they come to play.

How did this thread turn into Holmes? Holmes did not play at CovCath tonight. Every thread does not need to turn into a Holmes dominated thread. Maybe someone should make a Holy Cross vs. Holmes matchup thread, because it seems to be a hot topic.

He was not a product of a "not so talented" team. Pat simply did not shine in the games where he should have, hence the hesitance to sign him to a big school. I think Georgetown is a great fit for him and he will excel there! Congratulations Pat!

I would say Isler is a pretty athletic kid. Basketball maybe not be his best sport, but to play three sports the way he does, you have an overall athletic kid. And he is very physical. You say that Egan will go up against him? What are his strengths? I have never seen him play. CovCath needs to work it inside to Wellbrock and Isler to get this done.

I'll take CovCath. They know they need this one and I think you'll see them pull it out. From what I have read on here, HC plays a slow paced game. That works to CovCath's advantage.

Was not aware Arnold had three, thought he only had two. Sounds like he needs to get in check as well.

So does that mean Pittman won't be played vs Highlands do you think? I mean I would think if that were Henley's policy he would have it across the board.

What was the Pittman technical? And his foul trouble. Seems like it is easy to get Pittman into foul trouble.

Seems a bit odd to cancel a game over a dusting.

Pittman needs to focus on improving as a player and helping his team, not talking trash to his opponent.

Believe he had 8 or 10, due to the other big man being doubled whenever he touched the ball. Solid performance.

Believe me, I know it is a TEAM effort/failure. However, if you watched the same game as I did tonight, you saw that the big men got the ball maybe a total of 2 or 3 times the whole game. I saw them posting up with no result. Not right for them to work their tails off to be completely ignored. Our run around the perimeter offense is sorry to say the least, time for something new. I also agree that the slow down patience offense is not working either. Let them run it out. It's sad to watch them waste an entire minute only to shoot a shot that bricks out. On another note, what is going on with the JV team? Heard it was their fourth straight loss. Almost had the comeback tonight. Nice to see Wilson with them, he played well. Also like what I see from Reidinger. Good to see Cubby back in uniform, had a rough game from what I saw, but hopefully he'll get back to normal.

To have an inside game you have to be able to get the ball inside. Too many turnovers and bad passes.

I think the new coach will be given time to turn wins and losses around. It is the off field issues and relationships that cost the old coach his job.

I think for the new coach, it will take a year or two because the cupboard is a still a little bare. The o-line was not that impressive to me and they lost a number of starters. Also there wasn't much talent left in the skilled positions. They will have a tested receiver in Robinson, but not much else at this point. However looking at the current frosh, I think some of those guys will get help out, as they seem to be pretty talented. I know the jv team did well this year, as did the jv team the years before, but that does not always translate to success at the varsity level.
