Great win for Bell County!!! Congrats to Coach Hilton and every player on that team and hats off to one heck of an excellent football program (Rockcastle). Since from what I hear and understand Rockcastle doesnt really like to be referred to as part of the mountains I must say that Bell County and Belfry year in year out are the class of the mountains and are coached by two of the best high school football coaches of all time not only in the mountains, but in the entire state of Kentucky.

Dudley Hilton is a great person and a really great coach that does a tremendous job helping young men build character and teaches them to play football as a teammate and not as an individual. A coach or program that doesnt want to continue a long standing competitive rivalry with a coach like Dudley Hilton IMO just doesnt get IT (what high school football is all about)

Rockcastle has clearly had the upper hand in this series since 2000. If my math is correct Rock has won 8 of the last 11 games these 2 teams have played. I dont want to hurt any bobcat fans feelings, but that is actually bordering on domination and that is kind of shocking to me because of the respect I have for Dudley Hilton as a coach. I dont think there is any other team that has anywhere near a record like that over Dudley's Bobcats. I have to say that it is just a testament to how strong Rock's program has been during the last 8 years. Should be a great game Friday probably a 14-12 game with Bell squeaking it out with home field advantage playing a big role

I dont think I would go that far Leonidas??? Cawood is not a better football team than Middlesboro!!! IMO Lee County will take care of business by at least 3 touchdowns.

To say you dont care about upside is a good clue that you are pretty clueless

First, Hopson has just as much physical talent as Miller, but evidently has maybe a little attitude/work ethic issue or a lot more top teams would want him. Second, I am not saying Miller is a better player than Lofton right now at this moment in time, what I am saying is that anyone that understands basketball can see that Miller without a doubt has more of an upside as a basketball player than Lofton and I would bet the top 20 coaches in America would agree with me. 3rd, I will give you Alan Houston, IMO he was actually better than Chapman

Lofton is clearly an excellent college player, but Miller is 4 or 5 inches taller MORE athletic and can do many more things than Lofton such as guard a wide variety of players, rebound, block shots, handle the ball, shoot, and pass. I dont want to tear down Lofton because I truly do like him and his game, but to not have enough brains to see that miller has more upside is just mind boggling to me. what are you Lofton's uncle or something????

If you polled 20 of the top college coaches in the United States today and asked them to take what they know of these 4 Mason County players and they could have any of the 4 as an 18 yr old Freshman in college EVERY SINGLE ONE of them would take Darius Miller WITHOUT A DOUBT.

The combination of size, athleticism, shooting and ball handling he possesses without a doubt makes him a better prospect than any of those guys. What planet do you live on?????

That is great news for UK basketball. This guy might be the best player to come out of KY since King Rex. I have seen him a couple times and he is the real deal. Billy G is going to make everyone finally forget all about Ricky P. Way to go Billy and thanks to Darius for showing some love for KY basketball.

Did Lance Freeman get any snaps behind center last night??? I would think that a good coaching staff would get him prepared for not only next year, but in case of an injury to Cashen this year. He is a good looking athlete and QB prospect and needs some experience.

I thought Mr John Fields #57 stepped up and had a strong game last night. If he becomes the dominant player that he is capable of being physically and mentally and establishes himself as the leader of that defense and the team in general, the Skins with all that speed and quickness will be hard to handle.

The Skins looked better tonight against a decent, but very small Pineville team. Cumberland has size and a ton of speed and if they can get the right mix of kids working 'TOGETHER' on both sides of the ball they could be tough.

Good win Lynn Camp!!! It looks to me like Cumberland needs to put together a different mix of players on their defense, they appeared to have some weak spots out there that need to be tightened up, and I also dont really understand and have never seen a team have the fastest kid on the team that doesnt have a fullback body playing fullback??? Why has Gilliam never been put in the tailback position and given a little more room to see the field a little better, not to mention take a pitch outside and maybe beat everyone to the corner.

With the likes of Belfry, Johnson Central and Bell County football in the mountains is alive and well.

Cumberland has 3 or 4 good running backs with speed, most notably 2 sophomores (Nathaniel Gilliam, legitimate 4.5 speed and Lance Simmons, great quicknes and speed and is a Tremendous receiver also) that will give LC fits. Gilliam, their top returning back didnt even play against Knott and their starting qb the last 2 years (Zach Blanton) didnt play last Friday either and they still did whatever they wanted against I know a weak team. Cumberland's line is also the very strong and athletic, if the Skins have everyone available they could break out tonight and show what they are capable of. Cumberland-42 Lynn Camp-20

Dunbar probably has too many athletes for Corbin to stop, but Corbin needs to play mentally and physically tough football like they are supposed too, unlike how they played at Belfry. It is kind of hard to believe Belfry only beat them 21-0 the way they dominated Corbin at the line of scrimmage. Belfry just looked stronger up and down the lineup, but that is a long trip over there and that kind of trip can take a toll especialy against a great team like Belfry As for your comment about building the offense around Campbell instead of Cashen, he is a decent full back, but not the kind of talent that you can build an offense around. Their offense, like any other excellent offense needs to be well balanced and he needs to be a leader by being a great blocker and running as hard as he can when he gets the ball and not turn the ball over and that offense will be just fine.

They have played Cumberland every year for about the last 10 years late in the season alternating home court each year just as they have with Harlan, but from what I heard Coach P decided to pass on the game this year that was supposed to be at Cumberland.

I somewhat agree with you, but to say they know how to win might not be correct. The studs they had the past 4 years knew how to win, but what they have now I wouldnt exactly say knows how to win and are used to the pressure because the players that actually handled the pressure and got it done at crunch time are all gone.

I didnt realize that just because....its South means they must be a pretty good team. Having said that i realize they do have some tradition, a lot of kids to choose from and an excellent classy coach.
