The Skins looked better tonight against a decent, but very small Pineville team. Cumberland has size and a ton of speed and if they can get the right mix of kids working 'TOGETHER' on both sides of the ball they could be tough.

I thought Mr John Fields #57 stepped up and had a strong game last night. If he becomes the dominant player that he is capable of being physically and mentally and establishes himself as the leader of that defense and the team in general, the Skins with all that speed and quickness will be hard to handle.

As long as Cumberland stays together as a team they will contend for the district title. I have seen Fields play a couple of games and he is darn good.

That Class A district will be the most fun district to follow east of Lexington, in all classes.

Look for Evarts to give Cumberland a run for there money...it will come down to the wire at the end of this district for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

That #1 seed will be big for home-field advantage. Should be an exciting season down in the mountains.

Oct. 5th is when we play Hazard at Evarts. I think that this game will decide who wins District 7.
