I don't think Owen Co. lost much from last year, plus they will have their shortstop Gambrel back from a broken arm. Their new Coach Sutherland will have them very competitive. Carroll Co. only has one senior and no juniors but has a bunch of sophomores that can play. If their pitchers improve from last year, they will surprise some people and should not be overlooked. They have one of the best hitters in the region in Mackenzie Ogden. Carroll Co's new coaching staff has has a lot of knowledge.

Have they verballed for softball? If all these players from HC are good enough to play college ball, one would assume that they could beat someone other than Beechwood. Congrats Dale.

Travel Ball DOES mean something to the girls that play it.

Give some credit to Owen Co. Two days ago WV was on a mission and the team to beat in the 8th. Now they're just physically and emotionally drained from their brutal schedule? The better team won IMO.

Carroll Co. had the lead 6-5 in the seventh, runners on second and third with 2 outs. Ground ball back to the pitcher and she overthrows first and lets both runners score.

Carroll Co. should be ok defensively. Shortstop is solid and having a catcher that can catch a strike this year should be a big improvement. If they hit the ball at all they could be competitive. Owen should be solid. Shortstop may be a problem. Gallatin's defense needs to improve for them to win. I agree with you totally.

I believe Owen and Carroll will be a lot better this year because they have new head coaches. Owen, Carroll and Gallatin all have had younger players which play for good summer programs and should be stronger and more mature this year. IMO Gallatin Co. has the best pitcher/catcher combo. I'll go with the law of averages too.

I heard that the officials were were top notch. One foul called against Menifee Co. until 3 minutes to go in the game. Congrats to Carroll Co.

Carroll Co. Changed their starting lineup and it seemed to work. Thought the 2 freshmen for Carroll played very well. They showed a lot of quickness and good defense. Thought Gallatin would win this one easy after watching their first meeting and the way they played the night before against Ludlow.

Too many forced shots from Carroll, While being double teamed.
