Yes and yes. He has a lot of hard work to do to play D-2. He needs to pick it up a notch. He didn't look to good his last outing, a little rusty.

It seems Carroll Co is like a lot of schools. They have a lot of good athletes that seem to lose interest in softball when they get into high school, or some that wait until their in high school to start playing. Hopeully the young players will stick with it.

Short (bad) memories. Keep the good ones. One of my fishing buddies said (If your not getting hung up all the time, your not where the fish are.)

I agree with the feeder program. The 10u parks and rec. league were coach pitching, at least 2 years ago they were. I don't know about now. Are there any 12u, 14u, 16u, or 18u summer teams from Carroll Co? I know Dennis Hawkins had a 12u team last year that were pretty good.

Striking out twice or making 2 errors may not be a big deal, but 3 consecutive K's or E's does hurt their confidence more than letting them set an inning. The third K came in the bottom of the 7th with the tying run on third. It takes a lot of convincing him that he just had a bad day.

Have you seen a kids confidence after striking out 3 times? or making 3 or 4 errors that cost the game. A little bench time doesn't hurt. Start him back the next game. He'll work harder in most cases. I would not call time out and move him or take him out, unless a pitching change and position swap came up. My kid struck out 3 times the other day and lost total confidence in his hitting. A little BP and worked it out.

If the kid hit the ball 500 ft. like Adam Dunn, yea maybe. I'd even pull him after his second error, or at least move him.

Any smart coach would not let a kid have the chance at striking out 3 times.

Tonights game when our #3 hitter came up to bat after hitting 2 HR's the first 2 times at bat off the same pitcher, I said if I was pitching,there is no way he's gonna hit another. The first pitch plunked him. After coming around to score he said ( I knew that was coming) and that was it. If I was pitching I would have done the same thing. If I was hitting , I would have expected getting HBP.

Don't you think that every team Jones plays against knows the He's their stud. He probably doesn't get a lot of good pitches to hit anyway.

You still gotta hit it where they ain't. No matter who's pitching. I vote for Jones. Small school players get no respect. Would his numbers be alot worse if he hit for Boone in between Reed and Farris or C.C. after Maile?

There is only 1 senior left on the team now. The others were ineligible to play because of grades or something else, so they quit.

I believe they are. Matt Allen is a tough out to get.

There are some great kids (juniors) on this team, but don't tell me #20 isn't trying to be a leader. Did you see the game tonight? Why give up on this season? It's not over. Sounds like our losing football coach from last fall. Heck with the seniors lets work on next year? There ain't no next year for them.
