Owen has lost 2 in a row is there trouble in the Rebels camp?

Its just 2 games, its like 4,5 or 6 games. Every team probably in the state has a small losing streak like this there is nothing to get overworked up about this.

They have lost a few more than that. Really surprised at the team this year. Thought they would have done much better. They have had a hard schedule, but they are also loosing games that they shouldn't be loosing. They let trimble County beat them.

After seeing some of the parents reactions when they played Gallatin in Warsaw a couple of weeks ago I believe they get frustrated and can never recover.

I'm not clear about the meaning of this statement. Are you insinuating the parents are the root of their problem?

Not one bit. Should have separated the statements.

It's a combination of factors. Lost 6 seniors and a lot of pitching and bats. And the biggest intangible is leadership that has not been picked up by anyone yet. Mix that in with a new coaching staff, poor weather that has allowed sparse practicing(especially important with new players, new positions, and a new staff), a tougher schedule than they have ever played, and the record reflects all of that. They just need to have some fun, win or lose.

Kevin Webster is the head coach. Assistants include Greg Wilhoite, Tony Webster and Paul Ogden.

Talk with one of the parents after that game. Said it has been a disappointing year. They thought that their pitching was gonna be stronger than it is. No leadership from the seniors apparently. Said they have a couple juniors that stay around after each game that helps with the field. It like I said, that is where the coach needs to step up and put his foot down. You don't have to be a senior to be a leader..Let someone else step up in the role. Apparently the kids never know what position they are going to be playing at each given game. That also makes it hard for a player to even do well at one spot. At this point have fun and focus on what you need to do for next year. Aren't they in the All A next season?

Yea it has been a little disappointing. Our boys have had a tough schedule right off the bat. When you loose a few games early it does get you down. I think it has been a great experience for the kids. We just didn't get in enough good practices before playing those teams. Our kids need to realize that you need to step up and help take the leadership role. When one does have a bad game. Go lift them up. Don't critize how one plays or how one coaches for that matter. It always comes back to bite you. Respect your coaches and do your best. If a coach tells you to play a position then you need to be ready to step up and play it. All you can do is your best. Yes we are in the All A next season and we do really need to work hard both on and off season to make this a stronger and better team. There is alot of talent coming up and on the team now.

Owen County currently 6-13, with losses to such teams as Harrison County, Marshall County, Oldham County, Franklin County, Greenup County, Tates Creek, Manual and South Oldham.

 

Best win probably over Henry County.

Ogden had it going on against WV. He did against Carroll too but then errors stepped in. Feel bad for these seniors this year and you're right as some of the parents have said there is no next year at OC for them.
